Happy anniversary Debi 20year and the spark is still there. Glad things will be up a running friday.
I hope you have a wonderful evening.
Glad to hear your shop will be fine. It could have been so much worse, and with the way your schedule worked out, you are definitely blessed.
Happy 20th Anniversary! Today is our 24th...we who got married on the 13th are extra lucky! Have a great evening!
I'm so glad everything turned out okay. And sounds like you'll be able to return to normal in no time.
Now, no more scares!
So was I right/ Did I have the right Debi?
Looks identical to the image she has on her Web site, so I would say yes. lol
Debi, I admire your positive attitude throughout this whole thing. I think I would be a mess, or worse, a drama queen!
Hey Debi I am so glad that 'your firemen' are taking such good care of you in your life!! Of course it sounds like you are taking good care of them too!
AHHMMMM and I agree with gabbenmom - can you please take and share some pics of the firemen eye candy the NEXT time?? The firemen in my town are - well - uhm - lets just say not worth the flash!
My DH does some eletrical work and if your electrician is anything like mine - he will have you up and running faster than you think!
Hopefully you will get to enjoy a relaxing anniversary weekend and all will be well at your store!

yeah! that's me!! yay!!!
I'm so sorry this happened to you but thankful that there was no major damage. I wish you the very best in putting everything back in order.
Another side story: Hubby reminded me that on our wedding night, while staying at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown INdpls, there was a (false) fire alarm and every fire truck in the city of Indpls showed up at the hotel. Well, today is our 20th Anniversary ... and we're celebrating it with a fire at the shop! I think that makes us one hot couple! [/quote]
LOL! Classic!
Holy Moly, you're my hero - the unflappable indydebi.
When life presents you with lemons, you make lemonade (and then share it).
Congrats on your anniversary and your well deserved recognition in MailBox-News.
She made lemon bars and lemon cookies and flirted-- oops i meant shared them with some eye-candy---opss i meant to say firemen!!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Debi and hubby! here's to 20 more!!-- but with no fire at the end of the next 20!
What a way to celebrate!! Congrats on your Anniversary and on taking a well deserved mini vacation! ;D
And Yay!!!! To you for getting published!!!!
I know the felling last Sept the production bakery next door to my newly opend cake shop burned down the hole inside gutted thank goodness for the cinder block walls between us. It happened at 2am and I was there right away and had to wait for a few hrs before we could go into my shop to check it out no damage other than having to get a new roof which had to be done anyway it was from the water damage since the firemen were on my roof spraying so it wouldn't burn done too. The building next door has been torn down now and gave me more parking. It was a huge fire I still don't now how we didn't even get smoke damage. Health dept came the next day and cleared us so we could get back to work. Glad your Ok nothing worse than having to go through a fire.
WOW!! First off, sooo glad no one was hurt and your place is ok, 2nd.....HAPPY ANNIVERSARY.........3rd.....you are something....and we're lucky you're such a great part of CC!!
Hugs to you and glad you'll be up and running full speed again real soon.

Debi, I'm so sorry this happened but grateful that it was not any worse than it was. I admire the way that you've handled this situation, it shows the true lady that you are.
Congrats on your anniversary and getting published!
How very fortunate to have no inside damage. 30 lbs of meat balls will be sad to toss, but a small price to pay for a huge disaster avoided. A big thank you to the neighbor that called the fire dept. Hugs to you!
I am TERRIBLY sorry to hear about the fire debi. But am TREMENDOUSLY thankful that no one was hurt!!! Very scary thought! *hugs*

Oh Man, Just saw the post. Debi, I'm so sorry for you shop, but as everyone else has said, Thank God no one was hurt. I hope things are starting to look up for you. Keep your head up girl and a smile on your face
Do you know yet, what caused the sparks?
Well, my guess is it was the electrical short.
Debi, what a blessing the problem was on the outside of the building. I hope your equipment wasn't affected. Guess you'll be up and running again soon, with spanking new and safe wiring. I suspect those left over cookies helped you stay cool and focused. Another blessing. [/i]

Focused .... on hot studly firemen .... you betcha!! "Cool"? Not exactly the words I would use to describe me at the time!
I told my sister that story and she replied, "Oh my god, you sound just like Blanche on 'Golden Girls'!"
Gee! She says that like it's a BAD thing!
I want to thank a fellow CC'er, Myesha, who has a shop just minutes from me, who offered the use of her ovens if I needed them. I won't need to borrow her space, but God Bless her for the very kind and generous offer!
Just an update .... we got power back mid-afternoon Friday. Just in time for me to bake and make a shower cake due Sat morning!!! No damge to equipment. Everything turned back on just fine. We're now back to normal again!

GREAT! Now you can bake us up something good to send with someone for our meeting in louisville!!!!!
I am still miffed you cant make it....dumb ol brides and THEIR day.....
Oh man!!!! No matter what anyone says, having a fire is a jolting experience!
If anything else, it's a reminder to ALL of us to update that inventory list you keep at another location for all of your properties and have proper insurance! That way if something ever were to happen you've got everything down on paper to hand to the insurance company for a proper settlement. Because it's incredibly emotional (think Pregnancy x 8 )
We had a fire in January at my parent's family business (honey farm) and if not for all of us being so hypervigilent about knowing our inventories of tools and equipment (not to mention receipt saving) it'd been hard to come to the settlement we got. As it is, there were things like my old showing equipment that went up, but it's the craziest feeling in the world to find out something made it through and was someplace else.
Glad to hear you've got your power back!!!
Wow, thank goodness you didn't get hurt! That's so scary. Good luck salvaging the food!
