OK its official.
I am only decorating cakes in my red pumps! Maybe that way i will have beautiful cakes every time!!!
My DH would love it if I decorated in only my red pumps!

Your flowers turned out fabulous. Red is my favorite color and I'm thinking that after they dry and the color fades a bit maybe painting them with the color mixed w/ gin, all of this of course while wearing high heels
Fondant dries lighter so if you want deeper colors, start with a deeper base.
CoutureCakeCreations~ thank you for the advice. Maybe I will make some roses soon. The rose is my favorite to make out of fondant and even Starburst candy. It's gotta be more rewarding out of gumpaste. I do have the ing. to make gum glue so I will give it a whirl!!! Thank you and thank you Edna for the video!!!

I think you're on to something though. I've been eyeing some deep plum colored heels at Nine West and I think I'm getting them now. You've inspired me.
Heels are the new decorating accessory. Yep, that's a good reason to buy new shoes.

Well ladies now I have a reason to buy my red pumps too. If I new It was red that helps to make better roses I would have got those first.
Tonedna I have been watching your rose tutorial every night and practicing my roses. After I get the three petals on and then go to put on the 5 petals I start having problems. your tutorials are very well done and I am sure if I keep watching and practicing I will be making beautiful roses like yours too.

Everyone,
Edna really was very busy and I was super frustrated. I had been trying to do roses with no training just doing what "I thought" was the way to do them. I talked with Edna about it and she was so busy and did it anyway.
Now thats what you call a true friend.
I have yet to meet her in person, but cant wait until i can see her and give her the biggest hug of her life. She has inspired and encouraged me and it has paid off.

I almost feel a lil' weird and out of place since the world of cake decorating is mostly dominated by females, but as long as you all accept me I'm fine with that
I'm a newbie to the whole cake decorating world. I've had a passion for sweets since I was a lil' boy, but never really got into anything 'til recently when I decided to take Wilton classes @ Michael's...boy, was it the best thing EVER!
Since then, something has blossomed in me and now I can't stop. I met Edna through Internet searching, etc. I've been emailing her here and there for few suggestions and tips. I hope I'm not a pest to you Edna 
Anyway, to get back to the topic, I would LOVE to make flowers like this as well. I love the roses you all are talking about. I haven't tried making them in gum paste yet though....I've only made them in fondant. I'll have to check out Edna's tutorial and give that a stab. Now, is it a requirement that I make these lil' creations in heels?!?! I don't think my wife would like/enjoy that so much - LOL!
