Beautiful! How long did you have to wait to assemble the roses? That's the only thing that frustrated me when I was making my one and only gumpaste flower, an orchid......the amount of time it took to dry and assemble.
I don't have the patience for that. It drives me nuts. I want to put it together now!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!! I sure do like how gumpaste flowers look though and yours are beautiful!!!! Excellent!!!!
Amy
Wow you did a great job. I have to watch some you-tube video's more often.
Good Luck.
Very pretty , nice job!!!!!! How and what did you color your roses? They look so real, nice color of red.

The only thing that you have to wait for is the rose cone (center) to dry. As long as you use as little glue as possible when putting on the petals then you can complete your rose all at once after the center has dried.

I used super red. I only colored a little gumpaste at a time. That way I can get the darker red that I wanted alot faster. It does take alot of super red (by CK) to get it this red but I love it. It wont look quit this dark until it dries so keep that in mind.
So Beautiful! I've just started making gumpaste flowers as well and i am so excited. I haven't braved a color yet, you've inspired me to try. Keep up the beautiful work!
The red is gorgeous, they look very real. Great job!
p.s. Did you have your heels on when you made them?
Love ya Edna!
I have the gel paste super red by americolor can we use that? Gels I mean, thanks!!! Or does it have to be powder?

dont say that..that's my secret!...heels make roses bloom!..
I bet you ladies used the heel part to frill your petals, huh?
... Thats my deepest darkest secret!
Lovely roses and lilies - well done!!
What I want to know if how Edna does her flowers with such beautiful long nails??????!!!!!! If mine were that long, I'd be gouging out holes in the paste, fondant icing etc - can you tell that I know this from personal experience ha ha ha
lol murf..I use to fight with my piano teacher cause of my nails. She kept saying I needed them short. My problem is they grow too fast. I hate to be clipping nails every week. I even hate to do manicures every week ( I know sound unbelievable)
But I do my manicure once a month now.. And my nails..well..they are profesionally trained too!!!
Edna
Edna I don't know how you work with those nails, they gotta be trained. Mine are short and I'm forever getting digs in my fondant and stuff. Maybe it's the heels , I 'll have to try that.
Your flowers turned out fabulous. Red is my favorite color and I'm thinking that after they dry and the color fades a bit maybe painting them with the color mixed w/ gin, all of this of course while wearing high heels
