I have a request for a marble cake. I have never made a marble cake, other than with cake mix. I'd like to have something similar to the consistency of WASC. That is the recipe I use most often for my cakes. If I make chocolate cake, I use the chocolate version of WASC. I love these cakes, and would like to have something similar with the marble.

I guess I could use the WASC batter and make it marbled. Anyone ever tried this? What do you think???

Oh, and the cake will be covered in fondant, so I need to use a recipe that is a little sturdier than just plain ole' cake mix. I'd like to have a recipe that uses a cake mix as the base. Please help!!!

I make mine with a vanilla and chocolate verison of wasc. I take a big disher and scoop vanilla then chocolate then vanilla (you get the idea) then I just run my knife through. If you want it sturdier than WASC, I also use a recipe that is delish and sturdy...
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup water
1 pkg pudding
1 cake mix
4 eggs
