I heard it should be stored in the fridge after opening. Is that correct? I have had this pkg. unopened for 2 years, is it still good to use? Can I draw or paint on it manually? I don't have edible ink in my printer.

Hello,

I don't know about true shelf life of wafer paper - but I think it can last a very long time if stored in an airtight storage baggie out of the sun - not in the fridge. But anyone with more expercience please correct me if I am mistaken.

As for using wafer paper you can write on it with edible markers, piping gel, or paint with food coloring. They make beautiful butterflies, roses, or picture drawings.

I hope this helps.

I have had mine about that long and I store it in a gallon size Ziplock bag on a shelf in my cake cupboard. I used it not to long ago and it was fine. Yes you can draw on it with food markers. Just be careful not to get it too wet. It will curl. You can also use petal, pearl or luster dusts and chalk powder made from grating nontoxic chalk with a strainer.
