Fondant/gumpaste Decoration Question
Baking By cookieswithdots Updated 7 Aug 2008 , 7:59pm by cookieswithdots
Kind of a general question. Since it's summer and it's hot, I usually do my decorations for my cupcakes fondant (the flowers on the top) with a small amount of gumpaste to make them a little firmer. They look great, but what about people eating the cupcakes, don't you think they taste a little weird? I use rolled buttercream for the base and then add the decorations, if that makes sense.
I've been wanting to know this for some time, but thought I would ask.
Any thoughts or experience with this?
Melissa
Gumpaste usually doesn't have a 'bad' taste. I reminds me of those candy buttons on the little card. Sweet, a bit crunchy, but mixed with something else, it should be almost invisible.
Thanks for your input. I kind of think the same thing. I just always wonder what people think.
