I am just wondering if anyone else has tried to get an old picture transferred to a cake and couldn't due to copyright laws. I have tried at several different bakeries, including Wal-Mart, and they won't make the print without a release form signed by the photography studio. Of course this is not possible on a graduation picture taken 62 years ago. I guess I should invest in a printer for edible pictures.... we would eat the evidence! Any suggestions?

i dont understand why it would be a problem since the photo is that old. try icingimages. see if they will print it for you. or if there is anyone near you with a printer..if they can do it for you. i would but ia m too far.

I tried a couple different local bakeries and none wanted to chance printing the photo.... even though it is 62 years old! I ended up printing the picture onto a regular sheet of copy paper, putting wax paper under it and then putting it on the cake. No one could tell the difference, until it came time to cut it of course.
I do think I will invest in a printer for this.

I very well could be wrong, but I think I remember reading something about a time limit on the license for professional pictures. I want to say if it's more than 25 years old then it can be copied. Of course, not a lot of professional pics have a date stamped on them, but I would think a class photo would have an obvious date in it somewhere. Like I said I might be wrong all together or it might be longer than 25 years, but.... it's somewhere in that useless knowledge I've read and half forgotten?!.
