more stupid advice to brides!!!

Hubby emailed me this ... but he didn't include the link it came from. Just another example of brides are being told.

Wonder if they are being told that flowers are all the same ..."They're just flowers with dirt" ..... or if Venues are the same "....they're just a big room with tables."

But cake? "....they're all the same .... just flour, butter and sugar".

well sure, what difference does it make in the cake if you decorate the entire cake in 15 mins or in 12 hours....what's the difference?

Right... you get your cake from Walmart so why not buy your dress there too? Uh-huh, sure.

"All cakes are created equal...." What a ridiculous statement. Apparently the author of that piece has never compared a good cake to one of those grocery store substitutes.

That's too funny...and you know, all PHOTOGRAPHERS are the same, so just have someone with their Poloroid there snapping pictures and you don't even have to deal with getting them processed! Can you imagine during the wedding hearing click-chavrrruummm every 5 seconds! SO CLASSY!!

And of course all reception halls are the same, too. May as well just have it in your own back yard and save the expense!!

lol good one! I am wondering who believes this, because by that logic there is no difference in anything. Every car is the same, Honda or BMW, doesnt matter, just an engine that gets you from point A to point B.

Question, I wonder how often brides walk in to get their wedding bands from a jewery store and tell them that the difference between a 2ct and a 1ct is so small why the big price difference.

Marketing people must flip their lids when they hear stuff like this, I mean its their job to convice people that their product is in a certian price class. Companies spend millions in promoting product placement in the minds of consumers, this goes against all of that.

you know, I know it's been said on here, nothing is wrong with a Wal-mart/grocery wedding if that is what is in your budget.

But the whole champagne taste w/beer budget is the worst!!

It's become customary for people from my village to ask for 'sponsors' for quinceaneras/weddings and dude, it's ridiculous!! It's gotten to the point that the families end up having HUGE wedding where the 'champagne taste' is only extended to the bridal/quinceanera party and not the guests. Plus they probably end up making money off of it as well!

Look guys i completely agree with you on this.
These things don't get me upset though. A lot of the people I deal with try to outdo their friends or neighbors. So wedding gowns have to be spectacular and so do the cakes. I call it the "keeping up with the jonses" effect.
So, if they buy their cake at the nearest Wal-mart, their secret will be out one way or another and it will be cause for emabarrasment. I have dealt with a small community so far, but that seems to be the case with a lot of the girls i came across.
If you do come across a cheapo, then do send them to the walmart and save yourself the headache.

Maybe this is an article that is from a source that is cleverly backed by Wal-mart? Otherwise, I don't believe they would mention a specific bakery...if the source wasn't biased, they would probably just mention a "supermarket bakery."
