I've been eyeing the Kopykake Karousel electric turntable. Does anyone use an electric turntable? Mind sharing your thoughts?

I used to use an electric turntable in the 90's for doing wedding cakes. That was when it was still popular to do swags, scrolls and stringwork which went all the way around the cake. The electric turntable worked great for that. You didn't ever have to stop piping until you were finished. It made for more perfect work because it was all continuous.

I don't know how it would work with fondant and gumpaste flowers. It seems to me you wouldn't be turning the cake so much for those.

my hubby purchased one for me as a birthday gift- I had thoiught it would make smoothing easier-unfortunately it just stalls with any pressue applied-it is more for display or piping as mentioned by bcjean- although mine is a nice heavy turntable that doesn't topple easily

Thanks SV - May I ask what brand your turntable is?

Thanks BCJean - Yes, I was interested in using one for piping mainly, smoothing IMBC would be an added bonus.
