Could someone please tell me how to use a candlestick as a support for
the top tier of a stack cake. Similar to the one pictured here http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_561293.html except the candlestick I would like to use has a flat bottom.
I'm not clear what construction would be best to support the candlestick and the top tier.
this may help
stack like normal
add extra cake board with supports to go directly under the candlestick
then use a masonite board for topmost tier so you can screw a small piece of dowel to it that is just big enough to make a tight fit into the hole in the top of the candle stick.
key will be to provide enough dowel (ok LEAHS -- SPS ) support under that cakeboard under the candle stick.
here is a possible extra option -- is the candle stick partially hollow so that you could actually stick a dowel up into it from the bottom?
if so, then could add one right down the center (the blue dotted line)
