can you freeze already decorated petit fours???

I need some help. I really want to take a last minute vacation but have 1 order for that week. It is for 50 petit fours.

I was wondering if anyone has ever made petit fours completely decorated and then carefully frozen them?

I have a cousin who helps me from time to time that could take them out to thaw and deliver them for me.

Thanks!

How does your cake freeze and thaw? Okay?

Do you have access to a freezer that's not "frost-free" (so the temp doesn't go up and down)?

My cake freezes and thaws very well.

And my freezer isn't frost free.

My petit four icing is just ps/water/cornsyrup.
Shouldn't that freeze ok?

Should freeze just fine. Can you do a dry run for the icing, say freezing overnight and defrosting the next morning? That the real thing would be a slightly longer freeze time wouldn't make a difference either way.

I've frozen them completely decorated with poured fondant and royal icing flowers. I boxed them, wrapped the box in saran wrap & foil, and then put it in a plastic bag sealed with duct tape. I defrosted them in the refrigerator for about 8 hrs. Worked great.
