I just had to give a shout out about Michele Foster's, aka sugarflowers, wonderful DVD "Bloomin Garden"...it has rocked my world!!!! Probably the thing that made me join this site was the picture of her beautiful heart shaped flower pillow and when I found out there was a DVD with instructions I had to have it, so I carried on until I got it for mothers day
I have learned so much from it, with my favorite thing being the no cutter rose petals...love, love, love them I have so far still to go - like my leaves - but I am thrilled with my progress and I just had to let you all know about this wonderful DVD.
Here are my before and after pics of my roses, sorry they aren't such great pics but that's another dilemma altogether
Actually I hated to post that pic but as you can tell by the before pic when I take them inside they turn out horrible...I am very photo challenged and have a horrible digital camera
The DVD gives instructions for making all the flowers in this:

Another great thing about it is that you will find you have most of the things you need already...there isn't an enormous list of things to go purchase.
...and it's not just the flowers but also the ribbon and the base board ruffle - hard to see in the pic.
Fantastic job! Pretty amazing work. Thank you for letting us see your photos and for this post. It is greatly appreciated.

Michele I just had to spread the news and my excitement about your DVD!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us

I don't see any ribbon and base board ruffle in your first picture. It looks like a picture of someones garden wit ha few real yellow roses in it! You did a wonderful job!
Oh, and I hope I didn't sound like I didn't think you made the flowers. I'm just confused since you mentioned ribbon and base board and I didn't see any!
Jen you and I are both confused...I meant the picture of Michele's flowers, she has the ribbon and the ruffle and gives directions in the DVD.
I'm lucky to have any picture of my flowers so yes mine is just the yellow roses. LOL
K...well um..I'm confused now haha. Are the yellow roses in top picture supposed to be sugar roses or real ones in a garden?
I would take it as a compliment that we were confused and thought they were real! You did a fantastic job on them, and they do look real! Even in the blurry picture they look real!
O my Gosh that's just so insane! I was just SURE those were real roses in that 'garden pic'. That's amazing

Exactly what I was thinking! I thought..."why is she taking a pic of her garden?? " Wow...that is amazing. Both pictures are amazing!
Okay, I was fooled, too. I thought you were joking when you posted your after picture of the garden. See, your flowers are amazing! We all thought they were real!
Thank you so much everybody for the compliments I really did learn so much from Michele's DVD....I highly recommend it.
You really did do a great job. I also wondered why you had posted a picture of a garden. I'm so glad that the DVD was useful to you. You can't ask for better than people thinking they were real!

A fellow CC'er gave me the idea of making a DVD on how to wire a spray of flowers. I know this was a hard thing for me. Would anyone else be interested in something like this?
Thanks,
Michele
Oh yeah!!!! Those things drive me nuts. Not just how to wire them but then how to put them on the cake without stabbing the wire into the cake
Sometimes my wires are too flexible and other times not enough...now that I think about it Michele please do one...soon
Tulips are not on the current DVD but my quick version of tulips could be. It's a thought anyway.
The DVD I have right now shows roses, carnations, easy leaves, pulled or finger flowers, baby's breath, a ruffle, and a striped bow.
Michele
Wow - amazing work!!
I'm embarrassed to admit i bought the dvd at MACS and haven't had a chance to watch it! Now I can't wait to try!!
Oh and I'd love a wiring DVD!!
Great job on the roses. They are fantastic. I will have to check out the DVD. Thanks for the pics.
