some of the pics do look computer generated, but some look like the cc's are on dummies with the top tiers (without cc's) are maybe real cake. its an cool way to display them!

Whatever it is I thought it was pretty and a nice change for a display. I think I'll try dummies with real CC's. Maybe a real cake for topper to save.

wow! these ARE really pretty! I do too think that most are computer generated...but it would look like a nice alternative to flowers on a cake...I am just not a flower person though icon_smile.gif VERY COOL idea! icon_biggrin.gif

they do look like something odd was done to them...fixed up or something.

My question is will real cake hold that many cupcakes up without sagging? (they are pretty close to the edge)

I don't think they are meant to be real cakes, just fondant covered dummies. They are the best displays I have seen, other than when people use real and different cake plates at different heights and styles mixed together, I like that, too.

You're correct.
If you click on 'how to order', it states that they are cake stands decorated to match your cupcake choice/decor.
They only do cupcakes.

I found the cake journal. I didn't realize you were talking about a different website, I thought it was a section on that one.
