Hello! I am new to this forum and I have a question about those 3D pans... I have the Wilton stand up house pan and the puffed heart pan. Wnen I made a cake in the heart pan the edges got way overdone while it was still gooey in the middle. icon_redface.gif I'm scared to even try the house because it's much deeper than the heart. Does anyone have any recipes that work well in these types of pans? Or maybe some suggestions for temperature adjustments or something I could do to my recipes? Thanks in advance icon_smile.gif

In a regular home oven, I always baked my cakes in round pans at 325 instead of 350. So for a 3D cake, I'd probably drop it down a little more.

I rarely bake at the temp the recipe calls for. I look at a recipe as "merely a suggestion" on what I do! icon_biggrin.gif

I also bake in a 325 oven. for the house pan, place the rack in the middle of the oven and then put the house on a flat pan.
bake it for a little longer. i want to say almost an hour.

I always bake my cakes at 325, and also stick a wilton flower nail in the center of my pans so the heat goes right to the center...thus i dont have the problem with the gooey middles...hth....dawn

I have the puffed heart & bake at 350 with no problems. I can't remember doing anything different, however a flower nail is a great suggestion (padawn71). Is your oven rack in the middle or higher? Maybe it's too close to the top? Also, the time I made it, I used a box mix, so maybe something in your recipe isn't helping? I hope you figure it out, I really like that pan! Also, the 3D house - it's more of a "same level" pan, isn't it? Not puffed like the heart, so maybe it won't have those issues?
