i would rather not bake my own bday cake. i feel like that is the day my husband/family can do something special for me. so, i ask for PIE instead LOL i hate the idea of him spending that much on a cake that i don't like LOL and to be honest i love pie. i also like the idea that as the kids get older he helps them make me a cake.

to me it is more about making someone feel special, not getting things.

I don't have cake for my bday. My dh usually buys me a huge ice cream sundae or something like that, (W/ a nice gift, of course). Then he buys an ice cream cake for everyone else.

My DH and kids have always made my birthday cakes. This is fine by me since they use MY recipes. LOL Also, my youngest (she's 19 now)went to the Wilton classes with me and knows how to decorate beautifully!
