Okay, just finished going through this thread and all links. I really hope this 'person' (I use the term loosely and refuse to acknowledge said 'person' as 'member') is a prankster, because I sincerely hope nobody is that stupid.

I really felt that she (?) should be given a break, just like somebody else suggested, especially for being a newbie and maybe not being sophisticated enough to have some knowledge of etiquette (of any kind), but as a few others have pointed out, this person just kept insisting, no matter what (s)he was told or how nicely anyone explained, that there was no way the cookies could have been painted.

So I'll handle this the way I do in 'real' life: my theory when someone is standing in my way is to say "excuse me" and if they don't move I'll repeat myself a bit more loudly. If they still don't move I'll try again in a louder voice and after that I just push them out of my way. (I always try to check for hearing aids and to make sure as well as I can that the person is not deaf/using sign language and such). But I can only be nice for so long. This is the basis for my decision in dealing with this individual.

So again, hopefully this is just a prankster trying, for who knows why, to get some kicks.

lbain,

Don't take it as a hit to the newbie. icon_smile.gif I'm sure there was a time when we've all used canned frosting...especially when the bug first bit us. I think the reason they were questioning her being a newbie is because of the specific post that was sent up. A decorator was trying to figure out what type of icing was used for a cake and OP suggested she use canned frosting. It wasn't a slight for those that use canned icing, but not necessarily something a professional would suggest...

Hopefully you understand where I'm coming from. icon_smile.gif I just didn't want you to think that people were dogging those that use canned icing. Welcome to CC btw. icon_smile.gif

Someone PM'd me this thread - I was on and off with a BBQ and kids and 4th of July stuff....I'm sorry but this whole thing is a hoax. I appreciate everyone's kind words (you guys are very sweet) but this is someone trying, obviously, to humiliate me and make me look like an idiot in a forum where I practically live & breathe.

Yes, the cookies were painted with airbrush colors and I realize they are not 'all that and a bag of chips', I never said they were - I'm not sure what I did to pi$$ someone off but oh well. I am deleting the pictures so there won't be an issue anymore.

Again, thank you all for being so very nice with all your supportive comments. icon_smile.gif

oh go for making your own...

you KNOW you want to melt chocolate chips to use to make the icing (while stuffing at least one handful of chips in the mouth! -- quality control ya know!)

a recipe: http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-750-6-Chocolate-Frosting-III.html

or make a chocolate ganache
list of recipes (note the 5 star ones)
http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=Recipes&sort=recipename&sort_dir=ASC&op=search&chname=X&chingredients=X&searchtext=ganache&cat_id=-1&x=0&y=0

of course, now we can all get in a huff as to which chocolate (belgian) is the best (belgian) chocolate (belgian)

How's that for stamping your foot and slamming the door only to realize it has one of those really slow-closing arms on it? icon_redface.gif

I'll figure something out - sorry if I sound like a raging witch, I am just frustrated. Have been getting stupid, prank calls on my business line for weeks and this is slowly pushing me over the edge.

Okay, I'm signing off now to go blow something up.....literally. Hope you all have a lovely 4th of July.

Don't let it get to you CakeDiva. I remember doing my first competition last year and set my cake down in it's spot and walked away for a few minutes. Then went back to take a picture only to have other competitors talking smack about my cake and how they figures were NOT hand modeled (HA! I took progress photos along the way as proof! hehehe). They were being so mean, I wanted to cry!

I wanted to cry until I won "Best of Show" anyway... icon_wink.gif

It's purely jealousy darlin'. Don't let someone else's issues become yours - your work is obviously real and shows incredible talent.

I didn't read through all the posts, but just by looking at the first post and picture you can tell it's real ... there is a little bit of color run off on the very edge of the iced part. You should confront the person you are accusing before making such a statement.

Beautiful coookies!!!

hmmmm.....I wonder.....

CakeDiva,

you say you've been getting prank/harassing phone calls..
and then this individual comes on here and harasses you.....

could they be one and the same person?

calls can be traced.
and so can posts -- every post, tho' we don't see it, has an IP address attached.

if it continues, just might be worth having it all traced.

PS -- if you dare to remove any of your photos --

I'll sit on you! (warning, I don't kid about being a baby elephant for nutin')

now be "bad" (after all being good is no fun! icon_wink.gif and be of good cheer....

keep those many masterpieces coming --

and just so ya know -- I saw your new avatar and said to self, Well now isn't that interesting, she's using a avatar size copy VanGough's pic.... little did I realize you had done it and it was a cookie!!!!!

you go girl!
