Okay, my dh wants me to make this cake for a meeting at his office..on Tuesday . He wants it to look like the Cox Cable trucks. Any ideas on how to do this? Should I just try to cut out pieces from a sheet cake and put together to make the truck? I will try to attach a picture of the truck. Thanks for any suggestions.
That's how I would do it. And "I" would probably do a FBT for the entire side so the logo would be on there too. Sounds like a cool project.
Check out the fire trucks in the kids birthdays, they put the 'truck' itself on a cake board, then the put 1" 'risers' underneath that and use donuts for the wheels, looks very realistic, I think you can do it fairly easily! Good luck and show us the pics!
Check this link. It may help you.

I made a 3-D 18 wheeler for my husband to take to work. He works at Kenworth. My brother made a custom pan out of sheetmetal.
But here's my tip: I used mini chocolate donuts for the wheels....so cute. I did have to go to the craft store and buy a slab of floral foam to cut to size, glue to the cake board and all wrapped in foil, to elevate the truck off the cake board so that I could add the donuts and have it look real.
Hi Joanie,
I'd love to see this cake when you're done. How fun! I forgot that you're in AZ too but when I saw the Cox Cable truck ( and the tiled roof houses behind it) that reminded me.
You'll have to let us know how long it took you to make it too.
Hope it comes out great!

Finally finished the Cox truck cake...it was postponed..then had computer issues this past week, but it is done. I don't have a very good picture of it because the batteries in my digital camera were going dead and I didn't want to go to the store to buy more batteries because I didn't finish the cake until a little after midnight last night.
