Cake Mix Cookies Questions - Page 3

So... quick question about adding pudding to the cake mix cookies... would it change the amounts of anything else, or would you just add it with no other changes? Would you need just a little more liquid?

I made choc fudge cake mix and added a box of vanilla pudding as my extra, I then added a cherry kiss on top while warm. They were so delicious, and soft to ...just perfect! I will be making lots of combo flavors with the kisses for the fall and Hoildays !!
The recipe I used was the same as the 1st post on this thread, plus the pudding I added .

Wow, Fiddle, you're just finding all kinds of things to do with those gourmet kisses, aren't you?

I wonder if Melvira found hers yet?

I am at the Wedding Cake Workshop with Toba Garrett in NYC this week, so you and Mel behave while I'm gone, ok? icon_lol.gif

No, of course I haven't found them, so in the mean time fiddle is stealing all my ideas! icon_lol.gif But I am heading into the big city on Saturday, and I now know which stores to look at! (Target and Walgreens!)

Since no one knew the answer to my question, I went ahead and just tried it. I found that adding pudding with no other changes made them puffy, and cakier than without. Hard to say which is better... depends on the flavor. For the devil's food I like the flatter chewier ones.

playingwithsugar.. Have a great time . I wonder what flavor kisses they have out there??
Mel They were puffy and nice and soft which is what we like , though after they were cool they got a little flatter but stayed soft.
I have to see what the pudding does if I add flavored chips etc to the batter and no kiss ?

That's how I did it fiddle, since I don't have the kisses! UGH! I made spice cake w/pumpkin spice pudding and raisins that I rehydrated in the micro. There were delish!!! YUM!! They'd be awesome with a pumpkin kiss on top instead, alas, we'll see if it happens or remains a dream! icon_rolleyes.gif

Mel remember... Walgreens .Target. Walmart
Will you have all of those when your out Sat ?
I sure will!! And you can bet I'll go to more than one location if needed! We have abou 40 Walgreens, a couple WalMarts, but only one Target. This is all in the Quad Cities. There may be a Target across the bridge over in Illinois, but I don't think it's worth that much effort. Of course, I do have to go over there to go to the ONE STORE in town (other than Michael's & Hobby Lobby) that actually has cake stuff. And they carry some CK stuff, so I love them. And they sent me a birthday gift certificate for $10!! Does it get better???

Awesome ! In Walgreens I found them in the Halloween candy and the reg candy Isle .
In Target they were in the reg candy and Walmart they were on a special display at the end of the checkouts ! Crazy !
I should check my Cvs we have several of them to and they always have the latest candy.

What is your favorite (simple) cake mix recipe if you are starting with "Butter recipe yellow" that uses butter instead of oil?? Just curious, b/c I made them before but I never used a cake mix that required butter instead of oil. I guess it would maybe just be the same as white mix?
I was reading this post and it made me to want to make a quick batch of cookies with my daughter. =P

butter instead of oil. I havent tried them with that cake mix yet !
But I must say the ones I made last night are even better today.I stored them in a plastic container with a lid and they stayed very fresh ,like I just baked them,so good !

I never use that 'butter recipe golden' mix. Am I missing out? Is it awesome? I bought one once by accident (it was in with the yellow) didn't notice, doctored it the way I normally do, and it flopped. I was torqued off!

Mel I have 1 customer that always wants that mix ( my butter cake) as he calls it ! I think its a little more firm ? At least mine are. I like it to. I just prefere not to mess with the butter so I always get the other but if its on sale then I get it .
