any thoughts oh wise ones?? I need to reproduce this logo as part of a graduation cake for next week. I am not sure how to handle it- the easiest choice is obviously a scan, but the resources I have available i have found less than impressive color wise..
thought of fbct but nervous about the face part- never tried colorflow but ditto on face.

Could piece in fondant but again the face is an issue- any thoughts???

wow. lots of detail. if edible image is out of the question i would probably try a FBCT or even piece the fondant like you mentioned. Then try to paint on the details of the face, etc. HTH Teresa

I would make an FBCT with fondant accents, I did that with a Thomas cake in my pics, and was really pleased with the results. Good Luck!

I think I would make a fondant plaque, and then paint the detail. If you have a very small paint brush, it shouldn't be hard to paint the details in the face. You could also use silver luster dust to give it a silver look. I don't think you could do that with a FBCT. It would also be hard to differentiate that plume with out a tiny paintbrush

I am a real dud with a paint brush unless I am aiming at a large wall.
But my idea for the idea pool is umm, use a black edible ink marker for the face.

I agree, I would layer it with fondant, then paint and airbrush. It will have a much more dramatic look to it!

(TO cut it out, I would first print it out per scale and then cut out all the pieces needed, and then piece it together, like a puzzle..that way you will have the shapes all to scale)

The fondant "puzzle" that was described above is how I did the betty boop, the disney princesses and the noah's ark in my pics. It does take some time but they usually turn out great, just don't put fondant pieces on a whipped cream iced cake, the disney princesses had a lot of color bleed....

Whoops, noah's ark didn't make it into my pics, I'll have to track it down
