Ok I am starting to get worried, I already thought it was abnormal that I think about making cakes all the time, but for the past 4 nights in the row, I have been dreaming about cakes. I would wake up and and think to myself, again? I can't believe i keep dreaming about them.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Oh, I can believe it! It is called addiction, obsession, any name you can use, we all seem to have it.

Once in a while I have one about baking a cake and almost expect one to be in the kitchen when I wake up...very disappoint when there isn't!

Yes, it happens to me too. Sometimes I wake up tired from dreaming about cake all night. My husband says sometimes when he comes home to get into bed (he works overnight) he'll see me frosting cakes in my sleep.

I figure I just need to ride out my cake obsession, learn as much as I can, and see if I ever get less obsessed

Very, very common. My kids get so mad at me when we are out and I am looking at things and I say " I wonder how that will look on a cake" .
I think about decorating cakes all the time. You are part of the club now...

OH WOW! I am so relieved to know I am not alone! I do the very same things. And when I am out and about or even looking at a "non-cake related magazine, or sometimes commercials on TV, I see color combinations and patterns of things that grab my attention and I think - "OH - that would look great on a cake." I dream cake designs as well.
My husband's favorite saying is "It's all about the cake!" - meaning that's all I think about, all the time. But since I have a shop now - I do have to be tied to it pretty much 24/7.

OMG you do the pattern thing too? Oh man, I have a girly calender and every month there is some shabby chic design that i am like whaoh..i should do a cake like that, I go to my daughter's shirts and think to myself..whaoh that would be a cute cake.....

No one around me understands... I am glad at least there are people in cyberspace that do. The sad part about it, is I thought Cathy and Heath put the warning label on the site to be cute...ITS TRUE!!!


At work they ordered a going away cake...for someone and it didnt come ..i am thinking to myself...I WOULD HAVE DONE IT....omg....every revolves around cakes cakes cakes.....
