Hopefully, we members of CC can change "chutzpah's" self-proclaimed description of herself and her avatar below:

"'ll start! My avatar is that great and humorous southern lady and author, Florence King. She is, like me, a misanthrope." See page one of this forum.

A misanthrope hates and has contempt for humankind... according to my dictionary... and I do not see any of that on this web site... only love and caring for our fellow people. Let us encourage her and support her so she will see that we are all good people here and dispel her negative feelings about herself.

That is what Cake Central is all about: helping, sharing, and encouraging.

. . . I doubt that she will do this any time soon . . . I'm pretty sure she is comfortable with who she is (as opposed to self loathing) and embraces her chutzpah/misanthropeness . . . and it makes for some pretty interesting reading when she voices her thoughts/opinions . . . I think diversity is a good thing . . . and wouldn't change a hair on her head . . . icon_lol.gif

And while we're at it, I respectfully remind her that BOTH creation and evolution are THEORIES icon_confused.gif and neither can be recreated in a lab (starting from nothing) by any scientist. The stork, however cute, is not a theory. There's no harm in teaching both theories in science and letting each individual decide on their leanings, is there?

Mine is a close-up of an RI cluster for a cake I did last year. I was so proud of myself for that cake (the whole cake is in my pics). My dad took the close up pic for me. I have that pic as a circle on my business cards, as well as an avatar on another site I frequent.

Mine is of the first wedding cake ever I made from last summer. It was also the first stacked/tiered I'd ever made and I was terrified it would be crooked and/or fall over. (It didn't - whew!). I was so happy when it was over and done with...but pretty proud of myself. icon_smile.gif

Where do all of you find the graphics for your signatures and those adorable animated avatars? There is one avatar in particular that I really love and that's the one with the girl's eye blinking. I don't know which CCer has it but it's really cute!!

Thank you dragonflydreams for the info on shrinkpictures. It was easy.
I couldn't get my cat to hold a cupcake for me so I borrowed one from their website.

I, too, went to the shrink web site, shrunk my picture, and it still is not showing up... you all are a lot smarter than I! Maybe someone could post the instructions in a "do this... then do this... etc. format".

Lutie, CC allows for avatars to be up to 110x110 pixels. Check the size of the image you're trying to upload by right-clicking it and selecting "properties". How many pixels does it say?
If it's above the allotment, resize it some more. With the options of "75%, 50%, or 25%" of the original size, you should come closer to what you need.

HTH.
