I have a request for a cupcake cake ( which I've never done ) in the shape of a wedding dress... they said it would be really elegant and classy.. OK so I tried looking in the gallery and couldn't find anything.. How would you go about this? anyone have any ideas??

Draw an outline of the shape of the dress on a piece of posterboard.

Cut it out and fill the shape with cupcakes.

you can make the shape a little bigger than you need and cut it out of foam core board. this way you will have something to carry the cake on when you are finished.

from what i read about making cupcake cakes, you should put a little frosting under each cupcake so that they will stick to the board. place the cupcakes as close together as possible. Then you frost it like a regular cake.

I think you need a specific pan called a mini wonder mold. it's shaped like half an egg and that's the bottom of the dress and you use fondant or gum paste as the top part or the dress.

thats how I would do them. hope this help a lil bit at least

Wilton makes wonder mold pans and you can buy them for like $13

Here is my favorite wedding dress! It belongs to "cricket8923". I can see it done on a cupcake cake very easily.

you'd place all of your cupcakes really close together in the shape of the wedding dress (see photo) and then frost as you wich, I love the photo of the cake that parable posted too.

I just threw this sketch together - obviously it is not perfect just a visual.

There's 85. But you would of course use the amount needed to fit your/the customers budget.
