Just a question... are any of you on "facebook?" Maybe we could start a group where we can post pics of our cakes etc... Just an idea.

My daughter is hosting some of the cheerleaders from Ontario in a couple of weeks. They are called the PCG Vipers. Any of you ladies associated with them? It would be cool if I hosted one of your children.

I'd like it to be something "Canada specific" too. I don't want to ruffle any feathers, but I will just throw this out there ... this thread is about Ontario in particular. There are lots of people on this site from Ontario. The same may be true of Facebook?? Would anyone want to narrow the group to just Ontario?? It doesn't fuss me one way or the other - Canada as a whole is great idea for a group - but this thread was an appeal to Ontario folks specifically. Is that too narrow?

Hey all.
I just got back from a night of shopping with my hubby and thought I'd share this great deal with everyone. I got these 2 silver plated stands at HOME SENSE for under $80. The round is a 14" and the square I believe is 16" or 18". I thought it was a great deal and worth sharing. Thanks.

I'm in with the facebook idea, whatever everyone chooses is fine with me!

Tracey1970-you've got some good points.

My mind is a running on this one......All I can picture in my head is a Canadian flag without the red maple leaf and instead a cupcake cake put there...LOLLOL

kels_bells- I saw those last year and was so tempted, but I didn't. I LOVE Homesense. They have great cakestands/pedstals for every season and geez I want them all! I see they have my favourite sticker on them RED ones!!!!..lol Lucky you! There gorgeous!

I love the facebook idea too. I did belong to a cake group over there, but for some reason I can't post any more pics - they have over 2000 posted, but the 'chat' area is not very active. There are dozens of cake groups there, so I suggest we make this just an Ontario or Canadian group.

I created this in Microsoft Digital Image Suite - simple, simple, simple. Changes are no problem

Okay, let's talk about names. I also love Cake Girlz - that might even be better (less presumptuous! LOL.

Let's get some feedback and then I"ll go ahead and set up the group later today. This will be fun!

My vote is for Cake Girlz of Ontario or Ontario Cake Girlz. Personally, I'd like to see it focused on Ontario because we can trade supplier info, pricing, perhaps have a get together, etc.

Another option is an Aimoo group or something that is more private than Facebook and where you don't have to use your real name (just in case anyone is concerned about that).

I belong to a couple of Aimoo groups and they are quite easy to set up and to navigate.

Your thoughts everyone?

I won't set this group up until tomorrow so we can gather some feedback.

That looks great Martha!

I don't have a problem with doing it on facebook, as far as I know you can join a group without letting everyone in the group see your whole profile. Only those who you add as friends can see your peronal stuff!
