Does anyone know if you can use just fondnt on an edible image plaque insted of gum paste? will it get hard enough?? kinda confused please help .............
Yes you can if you want someone to be able to eat the image, but it will be extremely fragile and will break easy. I'd use 50/50 gumpaste/fondant. I prefer the "ease and look" of the the mixed products.
I made an edible image plaque for my cupcake cake. I mixed a little of tylose in the the Satin Ice fondant, rolled it out, wiped w/a damp paper towel, put on edible image and cut out.
I then put it in the oven with the light on to harden and left it overnight.
I worked well for me. Here is a picture if you want to see.

Thank you tiptop57 and amy729 for your suggetions. To Amy729 where do i get tylose? and what is it?
I get mine from CK but you can order it from many places online. (Into the Oven, Country Kitchens and more)
It is similar to gumtex.

My thoughts exactly....I love the look of the mixed 50/50! I have used Tylose as well but prefer the gumpaste/fondant mix! Good luck...
