I'm so excited I'm going to be able to be legal in GA! I'm going to build a seperate kitchen in the backyard (it's huge! ) But before i do that i'm going to have to find out what needs to be in done so I can call the handy man and get him moving.
I hope to have it done by my birthday in September or sooner icon_biggrin.gif
Now question has anyone in GA already done this? What was your experience like? and can I use regular appliances?

Thanks icon_smile.gif

I haven't been in here in a long, long time due to a family tragedy, so I don't know the particulars of your situation or decorating history where you are. Having said that...

Have you scoped out the competition? One of the biggest problems I had when setting up a business here was the natives not wanting to deal with an "outsider". Now if you're local you're already in like flint, lol. (I moved up here from Fl. because hubby wanted to come home.) I'm excited for you, and I wish you lots of orders! thumbs_up.gif

Make sure you get a building permit before you start building ANYTHING. Be sure to contact your local Department of Agriculture. Also, make sure the covenant in your neighborhood (if you live in a neighborhood) allows for a business to be run out of your home. Oh! And contact your county Planning and Zoning to make sure your address is properly zoned for home business. HTH

Sari, I'm thrilled for you!!! I started out with a legal kitchen at home. We are in Chatham county so the our rules may be different that your...business license wise...but the Ag. rules will be the same all over the state.

If you contact your Ag. agent before you begin the building process, they can tell you exactly what you need to do.

PM me is I can answer any questions.

Sari, I am over here in Rome and I don't know how hard it was for you to find out all you need to know but it's almost impossible here. Where did you look? Who did you call?

Congrats on the legal thing, too. That has got to be exciting!

I looked up the dept of agriculture online then called them. They were able to give Me the number for zoning in my area and everyone was really helpful.

Thanks and good luck to you too! icon_smile.gif
