I am looking for a whipped icing, So far everyone has suggested Rich's bettercream and pastry pride....I live in PA....Anyone know where I can find it, can not find it anywhere. And what isle it would be in....baking or dairy isle?

I know you can purchase the Bettercreme at sam's clubs. You need to go to the bakery dept and ask, it is not in an aisle.

Otherwise I am not sure... but most of these items are in food / restaurant supply stores.

I just bought Rich's Bettercreme at GFS on sale for 3.99. Regular price was 4.49.

Sam's Club only sells Rich's Bettercreme in 28 lb buckets - well, at least the ones near me. It is cheap though. I think it's like $18. But that's a lot of icing!

Can you freeze the stuff in the bucket? If so, how long will it keep?

You can purchase it at Smart and final or a cash and carry store. Look in your yellow pages and look for a resturant retail place that sells food to businesses. I do not need a membership at my local cash and carry and I cant find prices any cheaper. I can get a pound of butter for $1.36! It is double that at my super Walmart and even more at costco! GFS sells the liquid quart size. I whipped a quart and was able to ice and fill a 11x15 cake. It taste really good.

The pre-whipped stuff can be frozen for up to a year.

When you get it from Sam's, the best thing to do is to carry a cooler so that it remains frozen. Make sure the associate pulls it from the freezer and not the cooler.

While it's still in its' frozen state, divvy it out into smaller containers if your freezer won't accomodate the larger bucket. label and date the smaller buckets.

If you are able to store the larger bucket, remove only what you can use in a 2 week period. lay a piece of plastic wrap directly on remaining icing in bucket before returning to freezer to reduce ice crystals from forming directly on remaininng product. Thawed icing remains good for up to 14 days in the refrigerator.

Iced/filled items are good up to 5 days at 80 degrees or less.

You can order it from Costco in the business tab area of the website. I don't believe they have it in the cooler area of the store, because someone checked for it and couldn't find it.
