Looking For A Whipped Frosting That I Can Decorate With

Can anyone suggest a whipped frostingrecipe that I can decorate with, or at least ice cake with whipped and decorate with buttercream.
I just got a request for whipped icing on a graduation cake....never made whipped before. Thanks for any help
I use Rich's Bettercreme.......tastes awesome and decorates really well too!! It's not a recipe though, it's a already made (or you can buy it in liquid form which is what I do and whip the amount you need) it's a non-dairy icing...so it can be left unrefrigerated on the cake for up to 5 days and it tastes wonderful!! I buy it at my local cake supply store but I've heard you can get it at Gordon Food Supply pretty cheap and if all else fails you can buy a bucket of it at Sam's club pretty cheap!
I could be wrong, but I thought Riches Bettercream still had to be refrigerated. Even after whiped. It did decorate nice, although I haven't done anything fancy other than shells and ruffle. Am I wrong about the frig thing.
Thats a good idea, buying it from my local grocery store. I havent seen Riches bettercreme, I will have to keep my eye out for it. Thanks for the reply!
Bettercream needs to be refrigerated in the liquid form. Once you whip it you can leave it out for days.... weird but true. Made one Monday and it's been out since then and still tastes good.
busdriverbecky, try the Rich's. It's easy and good. Just be careful not to overwhip it or it will be impossible to smooth. I keep mine in the loose/thin side for icing and then stiffen it up a little for piping. Where are you in PA? Sorry, I'm nosy.
Riches Bettercream does not need to be refrigerated if the room temp is under 80 degrees. It can be left unrefrigerated for 5 days. Makes you kind of wonder doesn't it.

I experimented with this just last week. Left frosting on counter for five days. Had DH (better he get food posioning than me ) taste it everyday. On day five he said it didn't taste the same. We had a few hot days last week.
I am so shocked. Now I have only use this on a tres leche cake and german chocolate cake which I would not leave out anyway. But it is good to know, for future cakes, for those who don't like extra sweet icing.
I am cake decorator for a grocery store, and we use Rich's Bettercream. When it is in the liquid form it MUST be refrigerated. Once it is whipped, you can leave it out for 5 days due to the molecular change. Just thought I would let you know.
twooton....I'm also in "Steeler Country"....where do you get your Rich's Bettercream? I've never tried it, but I'm SO tired of making icing for all my "just for fun" cakes. Thanks!
I get my Rich's from Restaurant Depot in the Strip. It's $3.95/qt if you buy less than a case. It goes down to like $3.50/qt if you get a full case (12).
You can also get it at GFS. They have the chocolate Rich's also. Regular - $4.49, chocolate $4.99.

I once threw out a whole container of it cuz I left it out on the counter over night LOL I just realized when I bought it again the other day it was good for 5 days unrefrigerated doh!!
I do not have a Sam's club in my area. We have a BJ'S. Wondering if they have Rich's Bettercreme.
