Not yet, but I'm planning one for July. It will actualy go sqaure, round, square. I think the same idea applies, you just have to make the square edges on the sides slope with the top (keep the side lines perpendicular to the top plane). The rest of the instructions/steps should be pretty much the same.
Anyone else?

Good grief, I hadn't even considered it. Seems one could be able to follow the same procedures as for a round wonky cake and have excellent results. Be sure to post a photo.

I just saw one this morning on an Australian cake site. I couldn't open CC for some reason and that site kept coming up. I believe it was- cakecentral.com.au or something like that.
And so, me being be, I browsed through their cakes and saw a square whimsy cake on one of the pages, it looked really good!

I did one! It's in my photos as a collage, "Winter Themed Cake"... It was the first topsy turvy I've done... Actually, the ONLY one... I like the square, because you don't have to waste much cake, you can just fold over the cutaway to the other side and build that side up! It's not the greatest, but you get the idea! Good luck with yours!

I just bought Lindy Smith's "Cakes To Inspire And Desire". She has one square whimsical in that book.
