I have to do a birthday cake for an 8yr old girl tonight using the horseshoe pan. Any ideas????

you could make it look like those wreathes they put around the horses neck when they win a race. basically a horseshoe with flowers all over it and instead of congrats or #1 you would put happy birthday.

You could also put it on a bigger cake and write teh message on the other cake.

You could always do a rainbow - that would be the easiest and most 8 year olds like that.

Wilton has a water slide using the horseshoe pan. It is cute but may be a little more time comsuming. Here is the link (hope I did this right)

why do you have to use the horshoe pan??? Was that the request??? If so are they looking for you to make it a horseshoe??? I'm not sure what you're asking........are you asking for different uses other than a horseshoe or are you wanting to know how to decorate a horseshoe cake nicely???

If it's a horse theme using the horseshoe pan, here is what I did: Iced the inside of the horseshoe yellow (for a horseshoe!). Iced the remainder of the cake tan. The message was written on top with brown icing, and there was room at the open ends for yellow candles, 4 on each. For the sides, I had piped horse shapes with melted chocolate. Once hard, I stuck these all around the outside, using 8 horses total. She liked the cake so much, she wanted another exactly like it for another party.
