Probably not going to make many friends with this comment..but i get frustrated when i see for example: a bow, a figure, a flower, and then the whole cake....and i have written this before..the sketches....sometimes there are 3 or 4 sketches....to me, anyone can draw a pict of a cake...but making it thats what i want to see....the color choices, the new techniques that may have been used....the real thing....and i know cupcakes can be different but a grouping of 4 or 5 different cupcakes in one picture can show all the detail....i dont know how some of the duplicate pictures even happen....i have tried to post twice, only because i wasnt sure my first posting "took" and was informed that i could only post a cake once....
just one more thing....didnt we used to be able to email pictures...i dont see that option anymore..
All of my photos apart from one have been deleted. I understand the rules and why this has been done. However i posted a picture last night and it was just one picture but that has been deleted as well. Will some pictures be put back? Can i put it back on again, if it is just one picture?

yes I would liek to know why EVERY single one of my pictures is gone, I too understand the rules, but wh yare they all gone?
Im not going back and re uploading them.... im kind of upset because one of my pictures I had about 12 favs... I never get favs.
Also about 95% of my favs are gone..... I wish we could have gotten a real warning... Why wasnt it glued to the top like the "how to behave" Then I would have seen it and saved all of my favorite pictures....
Even if these people go back and re-upload them, you cant remember all of them.
I am upset too! I only had four pictures uploaded of the four cakes I have done (one of each cake). Now they are gone and they were all I had, so I guess they are lost forever. I can understand deleting duplicates, but why delete when there was only one?
And like the previous poster, someone selected a couple of them as favs which really made my day to see every once in a while (especially when I start doubting my abilities). It does not seem fair that others are able to keep their pictures.
Please tell me this is an error of some kind????? 
I wouldn't panic about your photos yet! This has happened about 3x since I became a member - I believe it is just a quirk tht Heath and Jackie are most likely working on.
When I first logged on this morning I got the "updating the site" page, give them time. I'm sure it'll all work out.

OK. I wanted to let you all in on a process that we moderators are doing.
We are in the process of cleaning up the gallery pictures. We are deleting duplicate pictures. What we have been told as moderators is that only one picture per cake. If you wish to show the sides or different angles of the cake you are to make a "collage" of it, and post it as one. You can see what we mean by looking into the gallery, there are some already being uploaded.
Please do not reload a cake picture that has "disappeared" this creates problems for what we are trying to do. KathysCC, and all the other moderators,including myself are only doing what we've been asked to do. I've gotten PM's along with others about the cakes disappearing, and then they are reloading the pics. Please don't.

Now I have not read this entire thread so if this has been addressed alreadly, forgive me but in the galleries there is the part that says we can post other views of this cake, which I have done. For example I had a black and white wedding cake and I posted a closer view of the flowers on the side and the topper. Is this not allowed any longer?
My pics are gone, but I'm sure they will be back,I don't have any duplicates.
I did post a gumpaste fairy once and then days later decided to make a cake and I used her on the cake (along with several other fairies), well they took that as being a duplicate and combined the pics.
Kind of confusing since there is a seperate gallery for fondant figures, which is where I put the fairy?
Oh well as long as my pics come back I'm good.

I went to my favorites page to take a look at a cake i was planning on using for inspiration....and it was gone!
all my pictures are gone too, as well as all of my favorites that I had saved for inspiration.
I'm a little upset that my pictures are gone along with the comments, I would have liked to have had the chance to print them out to save. I'm fairly new to decorating, and some of the compliments and support I have gotten have been what I needed to keep working at this even though it's a hobby.

I think we need to give it some time. I don't think there is a problem with the site. I think the problem is with the browser. It just seems strange to me that all of us have been wiped out. I really don't believe it is the site. But the browser .... now that sounds more like it!

Just about all of my cake pictures are gone!
It seems that they are working on the site, which is why we can't see our pictures.
I think that instead of *yelling* and getting angry, we need to appreciate all the work that is put into maintaining this site FREE OF CHARGE! We don't pay a cent and normally it runs smoothly. So what if there's a glitch every now and then, that is to be expected.
I would like to thank Jackie and Heath for all the hard work they put into the site.

I wish that advance notice would have been given - like maybe a permanent notice on the home page that on such and such date pictures will be deleted so if you want them save them on your computer or something like that. All of the photos I saved in my favorite photo file for future ideas are gone and I was going to use some ideas for my final class project : (

We don't KNOW the photos have been deleted. All we know is that the photos are currently not available. There is a lot of work going on in this site to upgrade and streamline .... members should not jump to conclusions that "it's all been deleted".
FlourPots is correct ... this has happened before and it's just a maintenance thing. Stop the panic attacks until we hear something official from Heath/Jackie. It's not productive to start the rumor mill and getting all pi$$y when we dont' know what's going on.
