Sorry for all you're going through Christi. My thoughts are with you. I'm glad that you're calmer now and got some things accomplished. At least you're less stressed now.

Prayers for your cousin and ((((Hugs)))) for you.

Christi, I just saw this post. I hope she is going to be alright and you get your cakes done. If I didn't have to work I would offer to come over and help but I am working today and saturday. I may be able to help after I get off if needed. You should have my number if you need me.

oh hon what a terrible few weeks you have been having!

The good news is that she probably has lyme disease... a disease often carried by deer ticks. The symptoms are horrible but almost all people make a full recovery when put on antibiotics.

I HATE ticks... its soooooo hard with dogs because they like to go through the bush and lay on the grass. I would encourage everyone to read up on tick bites to prevent something like this, there is a lot of information available on the internet. I just looked it up and found some things I didnt know... like how to remove it to reduce the chance of transmitting disease.

Christi - I hope all is going better and that she makes a full recovery... from what I read it could take months to do it but the chances are very good!

I am sorry guys for not updating.

Here is the kicker.. This diesease was caused by a tick gotten off of a Llama icon_sad.gif .. it is a rare disease and she was bitten and had a terrible reaction. Her organs started bleeding out. BUT... the docs are getting the infection under control and if she is improving as fast as she has been then she will probably come off of life support by this weekend. BIG HOPES icon_smile.gif

YES please check for ticks.. another thing is ticks are becoming immune to everything we are spraying.

I appreciate all the prayers and the wanting to help

You all are such great people icon_smile.gif

I wished I lived closer, I would help you out in a heart beat. I hope she recovers soon, sounds like she's doing a little better already.
Ticks are horrid! I use to have to duct tape my cami bottoms, waist and cuffs at night when we were doing field training in the Marines. Horrid little things will eat you up if possible. A few people caught lymes disease but since we were outside a lot in a heavy tick area (and other nasty creatures) it's one of the first things they tested for.
Unfortunately, a little girl passed away a few years ago where I live from it. We are in MI and no doc. thought to test for it until it was too late. You don't generally think of ticks in the North but they are practically everywhere.
I hope you are doing ok Christi. You've been under so much stress lately I'm afraid you are going to drop from exhaustion. [/u]

PTL for the good news! It's crazy that such a little thing can cause such a horrible thing to happen. Glad to hear that she is doing better & I hope that you have been able to catch a good rest. May God continue to bless you all.
