i'll probably need a little longer than the first if that's okay. how about by may 10? that would be good for me.

i agree with picking a number or atleast a range of how many cookies. it also has to be a bouquet not just in a box.

now i imagine the container and the display of it is all part of the judging. is there any rules in regards to that?

the 10th works for me!

maybe between 7 and 11 cookies?

i don't see any necessary rules to containers or displays

Ok.... Melissaanne... Wyckedwytch....Mawagner.... Why can't we do a throwdown between the four of us? Is there a limit to how many people can be in a cookie throwdown? I haven't done very many cookies, but I'd love to try this... I think it would be a lot of fun!!!

Let me know and we'll take off running on our own "Holiday Theme" Cookie Throwdown.. and being as Mother's day is coming up... I think that would be AWESOME!!

I'm game if y'all are...

On the cake TD they have two starting now. The second TD was cancelled due to illness in Wendy's family which prevented her from finishing her cake. You could do the same thing with the cookies, have several going but someone will have to keep track (someone who can juggle??) My hat is off to all of you, I don't have the guts to try this but I love looking at all the pics and reading the posts. icon_biggrin.gif

Good luck to all

Mamajan, Mwanger, and Melissaanne,

I'm totally in and since we are getting a later start I would say let's have till the 19th so everyone has 4 weekends to work on them( I don't want to jeapordize anyone's day job).

So are you interested in Mother's day or something else? If this really takes off we could do a throwdown each month using whatever holiday or occasion that happens during that month! Think of all the ideas we could end up with!

Just let me know and then I'll take you down! icon_lol.gif I really don't have a mean bone in my body (Though my teenage daughter might not agree icon_eek.gif ).

I am in... I gotta tell you though... I have never done anything like this... so I guess it's time to get this old girl in gear!.... I would LOVE doing this every month.

Just remember.... us "southern girls" love a good challenge....

And for the record... I don't have a mean bone in my body either, but my oldest son calls me "Drill Sergeant"... go figure!

Mother's Day isn't that far away... should we just skip Mother's Day and go for the next holiday? Memorial Day is the 26th... or Father's Day is June 15th... Let me know..

I'm gearing up now... let's do it!

Any thoughts on how you would like to work this out? I am willing to wait if there is not anyone up for it. We haven't heard yet from melissanne...so maybe once we hear from her we could get a couple more going.

So, do we want to give melissanne a little time to respond? or do we go on with three?

Just let me know... wyckedwytch and I have already made contact, so we're ready "to rumble"... HA

Hi girls,
iwas just in the middle of typing a message to you when all the power in the house went out!! You have had a lot of post since yesterday. It is 9am here, so I miss a bit wwith the time difference.
Mawagner, I would love to do a throwdown with you. I was thinking because you see a lot of holiday cookies posted already, what about children's birthdays. Not baby cookies, older. What do you think Mawagner. Do you have anything you want to try? Will we go with the same amount of cookies 7 or 9?

Would someone be willing to post the our pictures for our throwdown?
They will also be due on the 19th of May!
By the way, I could post photos for one of the other groups if that hasn't been sorted out yet.

Ok guys, I hope this is ok. I copied this from the cake throw down rules, adding or changing where I thought it needed....

1. Any member may challenge another CC member to a TD. The TD will begin and end on the specified dates, so all pictures of completed cookie bouquets can be uploaded for judging at the same time. This will make it easier for all CC members to judge each TD photo, and all winners can be announced at the same time.

2. Throw Downs begin on the 1st day of every month. They will end inexactly 3 weeks from the start date, at which time your pictures need to be sent to the poster. Pictures need to be sent to the poster by 3:00 pm CST.

3. You may submit up to 3 photos for judging.

4. You may choose your decorating medium, be it marshmallow fondant, rolled buttercream, royal, glace... Everything must be edible.

5. The loser will be the poster of the new throwdown.

6. A throwdown should be as equal in decorating skills as possible. If you are the throwdown winner, try to choose a member with "equal or greater than" skills as yourself.

7. The throwdown challengers will determine the theme of the bouquet.

8. The winner of the throwdown continues to compete until they lose. Once a contestant has lost, they must wait 12 months before participating again.

9. Only 2 members may compete in any particular throwdown, however, there can be more than one throwdown going on at a time.

10. Bouquets must have between 7 and 11 cookies. All cookies must be arranged in a bouquet, and not just thrown in a basket.

11. Judging may include not only the cookies, but the packaging as well. So, keep this in mind when choosing a container.

ok, so that's what I have. Let me know if you think we need to add or change anything!!

Sounds great to me... So we actually don't start until May 1st right? and then end the 22nd... am I correct with this thinking?
