I don't have any example pictures. But if you are concerned about getting the lettering right on the cake you could use cookie cutters of the alphabet and press them onto the icing and outline with the color of your choice. Hope this helps.

You could do a search in the gallery for baby blocks cakes - those are cute.

I got hooked on cakes when i was making my daughters 1st birthday cake......the obsession started very innocently....I wanted the biggest best party!! I ordered a carousel and a jumping balloon. I then decided that a grocery cake would not be cute...and it would be funny if she had a large cake on tiers like a wedding cake with each disney princess on it!!! mind you I had never decorated a cake (i still didnt know any better to wait for the cake to cool before I iced it with my red can)

I bought a wilton magazine and went to town!!!!

So becareful because now my daughter is turning 7 and she is soooo hooked on cakes she has started decorating and all she wants for her birthday is for me to design something that will wow her!

okay but back to you.............. search thru the wilton magazines and thru the forum and I am sure you will find something great!!! the hardest part is picking a design..........once you have narrowd it down ask away and all these great ladies can help as you go!

I also think the pic on this post is very cute but I agree with lovetofrost. If you don't want to feehand the letters than the cookie cutters are a great idea! In my 1st Wilton class last month our instructor had us bring cookie cutters to class along with a cake that was already iced. We then gently pressed the cookie cutters onto the cake. We proceeded to outline the shapes in one colour and filled in the shape with the star tip.

The other thing you can look into is doing an edible image (I believe it is baskin & robbins that will do this for you) and then put that on your cake.

If you have time I would recommend maybe taking course 1 for Wilton as it could give you some pointers for cake decorating.

If you go to Wilton's website there is a link for classes!
