I have a different way to make a gumpaste bow and would like to share.
First I roll out a 7" wide and approx 11" long sheet of 50/50 gumpaste fondant in the color I need. Don't roll out too much as you don't want it to dry out.
Then cut it to the width desired.
Using a premium flat top tooth pick, gum glue to the bottom of the strip.
Fold over the top of the strip to the bottom and trim the sides to make a V.
Open the loop up as much as you like.
Make approximately 21 of these loops and completey dry on their sides.
Pearlize if you wish. Then attach to cake starting from the top and working your way down to the cake.
