How About A Thread To Seriously Discuss Making Cupcakes?????
Baking By Cookies4kids Updated 11 Dec 2020 , 12:18pm by -K8memphis
lilybird,
I made the WASC cuppies the last time I used that recipe. I didn't bake them any longer than normal cuppies at 350 degrees. They turned out great, but once again, a little tacky on top.
Just made the WASC cake but added cherries chopped up for one of the layers. Turned out great. Drove myself nuts trying to finish a cake for tomorrow. Ran into problems with my MMF for some reason. But CC folks saved the day and told me how to bring the MMF back to life! The WASC cake I used was the 'original' recipe so I wouldn't waste any eggs. Holds up fabulous for carving cakes.
Thanks for all the help everyone. I think I will do a couple test runs this week with all the ideas.

grandmag - have you shared your vegan vanilla cc recipe? I can't remember seeing it and would love to give it a try.
mjarvis - beautiful cupcakes, good job!
melvira - Best wishes for a happy day today.
Yes, it's in the recipe file. It's the Golden Vanilla Cupcakes from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World. Someone else posted it. Sorry, without looking I can't remember who. It is a dense, moist cupcake and not so sweet so if you like the light and airy kind these won't do. I like them more dense.
Don't care for the chocolate Vegan though, from this book.
Hello everyone--
I'll really try not to make this so long, but I've missed quite a few postings and not sure why. I'm set up to get topic notifications, but have not gotten any in several days. I don't know why... so I just happened to "stop by" and tried to catch up by reading days worth of posts.
O.k., I really, really want to say thank you to all of you who are voting for me in the Dole snack contest. I just can't seem to catch up with this guy! The director of special education in my school district (my boss) emailed the communication's director about the contest. I'm now featured on the school district's website (how embarassing) and they want to do some sort of contest between classrooms once school starts. I believe the entire staff in the district will be emailed at some point. I hope it helps!
As for some of the topics I remember from reading-- Mjarvis78 your cupcakes are sooo cute! I did go to the dollar store and find some of those cute summer plates and cups to make a cupcake stand. There is a really good sounding dip recipe I would love to try! I would love to go to Sprinkles too! Their cupcakes sound delicious!! I too have to go back to school so I won't be able to play as often. I'll stop there because I written waaay tooo much!

Ooooh, I forgot, I also have the Hello, Cupcake! book--isn't it fabulous. They have a website too if you don't know about it. I'm not sure when the last time they updated it though. I wanted to mention they had a really cute pull-apart pizza cupcake on the site. I know someone had mentioned making pizza cake on this thread a few days ago. The author is really nice too. I actually emailed her after I found out I was the winner of the Rachael Ray cupcake contest to thank her for an inspiring cupcake book. She emailed me a few times wondering when the magazine would be out. I wish I could have gone to see her in Chicago at Sur la Table- but the demonstration was full.

Lily
lilybird... Thanks. Sounds delish!!!I will be so glad when we can see some of your creations !
When ever you talk about the different items you have made or are going to try it always sounds delicious and beautiful to . I cant wait for you to share pictures !
Anyone else have trouble sometimes with motivation?? I see all these gorgeous cupcakes and recipes...and just have no idea where to start or how to find energy. *sigh*
Maybe it will get better when the oldest goes back to school next week.
He's the cupcakes I made. Chocolate cuppies with white chocolate pudding in the mix. 1/2 filled with reg. buttercream the other 1/2 cookie-n-cream. Chocolate ganache on top with buttercream squiggles.
Thanks Fiddle. I wish I could post too, but just don't know how yet and my help hasn't arrived yet!!!!! I have pictures of everything so will be glad when I can post them. In the summer there is so much gardening that I just haven't made it a priority. I have been busy putting a garden in at camp so just happy to have time to bake a little here and there.
Hallfamily--I don't have any trouble with motivation, but then I don't have any little ones running around either. I could bake 24/7 if I had a place to take it. Whenever I go to camp to volunteer, I bake and it's gone in a flash. I guess there must be a lot of places that would like to have the stuff, and I need the motivation LOL to find them. So many cupcakes and so little time!!!!!
Lily
Lily.. Your Welcome ! Im sure I just want to steal you ideas
Melody25 . Im sure those cupcakes were a HIT !
Have trouble with motivation?? NOT !!!! With baking anyway !!! I could bake 24/7. I love it !!!
Now when I have to stop and fix dinner ! I dont have time for that
Sometimes I really enjoy cooking to but I get so tired if trying to come up with something different for dinner everynight. I think that makes me not enjoy it so much. But look at all the desserts there are to try ! my list Looks more like a little childs Christmas list that wants everything they see
Wow Melody25 I'm sure you didn't have any trouble getting rid of those cuppies. They are beautiful and look so yummy.
Fiddles I know what you mean. I get tired of fixing the same old thing too and I try not to fix to many sweets because my hubby and I don't need all the sweets and my grandkids don't need it either.
I just want to thank everyone for such nice and supportive comments!
Fiddlesticks, thanks so much for your comments on my pictures!
Fiddlesticks, I ordered me some of the "crunch". I got lime, coconut and the red & green peppermint! Also, got me the printing press things from the other thread! Confectionary "borrowed" my almond flavoring so I had to get that too! I called her to see if she wanted a bottle toO Hadn't made any cuppies this weekend! Got to get busy this week.
Melody25, your cupcakes are soo pretty! Make me hungry!
Hallfamily, I have the same problem and don't have any little ones for sure! I have a long list I "want" to do!
Lilybird that recipe sounds really good! I finally this weekend found the Reese peanut butter syrup! Don't have a clue when I will use it but at least I finally found it!
Linda
Linliv46. Glad you ordered early ! You will love it ! I have not tried the coconut No one here to eat that flavor but me . I love the lime but the kind I bought was pretty strong and I added less then what is called for ! The coffee is wonderful ( if you like that flavor ) and so is the boysenberry ! I stll have some left But I want to get the tangerine and lemon to try again ! I also like the White pepermint. How is confectionary ? I havent heard from her for a while ! Shes probably working to much !
I have been working on some cupcake decorations--picks and wrappers and whatnot--to sell on etsy and I would like to offer a "matching" recipe with them (pumpkin spice cake with Thanksgiving theme, or tie dye cupcakes with tie dye papers, for example) as a freebie with purchase.
Would I be allowed to give recipes from CC as long as I say where the recipe is from? I don't want to break any rules but I sure don't have any original (that I have made up on my own) recipes.
I'm still kind of new here, can y'all share some guidelines with me? I'm open to any ideas!!
Thanks!
mjarvis78, love your cupcakes! How do you make your swirl look like ice cream?
Where are you ladies ordering your crunches? I saw some at Hobby Lobby but just the nut kind. What printing press things are you talking about?
Gabbycakes -
I would suggest that you contact the person who posted the recipe and ask for consent.
I know I would be very annoyed if someone posted something of mine without asking me first, whether credit was given or not.
And you see what happened to stolen picture threads, because they get so emotional. Rather than get yourself into what might turn ugly, ask the poster directly.
Theresa
GrandmaG.. My Michaels has a choc crunch and an almond and a toffee. There is anohter thread talking about the letter or word presses you can use to write better on cakes. I get my Crunchs from a local cake suplpy But Im sure Linda can tell you where she ordered hers !
Theresa, I agree!
Thanks Fiddlesticks! I have that word press but never used it. I tried to put it together once and gave up the idea. Guess I'll have to try again. My hand writing needs work!
http://www.countrykitchensa.com/
They carry them here ! At Countrykitchensweetart
GrandmaG---is that Golden Vanilla cupcake one that will dome up as that is what I need for my 100 cc order. Someone mentioned that they stay really flat and that won't work for me on this one.
Fiddle--somehow I missed the discussion on the crunchie things and want to know what they are used for. It sounded very interesting and I certainly wouldn't want to miss out on something that I can store in my cupboards along with the tons of stuff I may never use but just "have to have." Wouldn't it be nice if we could all share our favorite dinner recipes so we would have more time to make cupcakes. Not bragging but I am considered a terrific cook and love to try new things whenever possible. I have tons of really good recipes to share that I have collected and tried over the year. Those are my lifes passions--gardening, cooking, and baking. I suppose we can't do it on here without getting
into trouble!!!!!
Lily
playingwithsugar--
Thank you--that's a very good point! I may end up not adding the recipes, or maybe a list of party or serving suggestions. I was trying to think of a little bonus, ya know?
Lily Bird,
That would be nice because I do get tired of fixing the same old thing every week. I bought turkey legs this week just for something a little different. Even that is not a huge difference but at least it's not hamburger, chicken, or pork.
lilybird .. Anytime you want to share a recipe with me of any kind I would be glad to have it ! You have my email? If not I can pm it to you
The crunchy pieces are added to a 1# bag of melted chocolate that has been spread on a cookie sheet and let harded to make a choc candy crunch ! Or added to top an ice cream sundae. I think they would also be good to top a cupcake to ! But like I said the ones I bought are pretty strong in flavor so I would test them first ! Im sure you can do a number of different things with them . I made some last Christmas and have them in sundae dishes in my photos. HTH!
Linda....THANK YOU! I was beginning to think I was the only one who was struggling with motivation!!
