True, true... this is sounding like a plan! Of course, now if he were to actually get hit someone would find this thread and think I actually orchestrated it. thumbsdown.gif So, for posterity I will point out that I am kidding. Like I said, he's better now than he used to be.

Well, I got everything done except the grooms cake, I'm doing that in the morning, then deliver at 2pm. I had to go buy can of beer to make this grooms cake though... then cut it open and scan it to make an edible image! Hehehe. You thought I was going to say I had to drink it!

Oh, and the vicodin might help with your piping... kind of chills you out and lets you go with the flow. icon_lol.gif I just knew I couldn't do this whole job today without something to ease the pain. My sister and her zillion kids were visiting, and I am not used to the house being that loud, especially while I'm doing a cake.

MJarvis... those are so cute and colorful!!

Ok, yall. I gotta tell yall what I did yesterday!!!!!! It was the most amazing experience!! I only live about 2 hours from Dallas, so some of the teachers from school and I decided to take a day trip to go up there and go shopping for some school clothes. I dont know what made me think of it... but remembered, there is a Sprinkles Cupcakes in Dallas!! So at the end of our shopping spree, we headed into Sprinkles and it was amaaaazing. So perfect, so cute, just like their website. I got a box of 4(to sample more than one of course) for $13!! Holy crap, but I got them anyway just so I could try them. They were soooo good! I am usually a chocolate freak, but my fave out of the ones I got were the vanilla cake with milk chocolate icing and sprinkles of course. You can also get a "shot" of icing for .75! The vanilla is soooo good....

Just wanted to share my fun day with yall! I know yall would appreciate it more than my husband did! lol

Wow Lisa that sounds so good but the cost. WOW.

Mel you better take it easy and don't overdue it. Yeah right I know. icon_biggrin.gif Oh by the way you should have drank the beer but not with the meds. My husbands urologist told him to drink one a day but we are not drinkers and he rarely does what the doctor tells him. What man does? icon_biggrin.gif I do hope it gets better for you though. He suffers with his about every 6 months and it runs in his family.

The picture of the cupcakes look so good. Great job. icon_biggrin.gif

mjarvis... you're hired!! Those look fabu!!! I agree the icing looks especially nummy! Something about it... hard to put my finger on it!

I decided I will use the beer to make beer bread... that sounds so good. Well, I have to get that groom's cake done today, then start cooking and baking for the baptism tomorrow. Gonna make some cuppies for it, but might try to fit a cake in there if humanly possible!

Mel,
Here's a recipe for the beer that's a crowd pleaser:

Beer & Bacon Dip
30 min | 20 min prep

SERVES 8 -10

* 6-8 pieces bacon, crumbled
* 4-5 green onions, greens and whites, minced
* 8 ounces light cream cheese
* 8 ounces Velveeta reduced fat cheese product (1/2 block)
* 1 tablespoon garlic powder
* 1/2 tablespoon dried red pepper flakes
* 6 ounces beer (1/2 can)

1. Cook bacon crisply, remove from pan to drain on paper towels; reserve grease.
2. In hot grease, saute green onions until bright green and soft - drain on paper towels.
3. In your Crock Pot insert or microwavable bowl, combine cream cheese, Velveeta, garlic powder and pepper flakes.
4. Microwave on HIGH for 3 minutes.
5. Remove from oven and stir to combine and microwave again for 3 minutes or until cheese is completely melted.
6. Add beer and stir to "loosen" to a dippable consistency.
7. Stir in bacon and green onions and serve hot with corn chips or crackers.

Oooh, thanks micnmax!! I will have to try that one!

I am making the stupid beer can cake right now and having trouble with my airbrush color. I'm using the silver and it looks like it has a pinkish purple hue to it. ANNOYING!!! It's the 'good' Luck's silver airbrush spray. I don't know why I didn't airbrush my fondant pieces in advance. What an idiot!!

GrandmaG--thanks for the recipe and Fiddle for the heads up. Can you make this recipe ahead of time and store it in the fridge, Grandma? When you make something like the Vegan vanilla cupcake, is it ok to double or triple the recipe? I know sometimes the recipe will flop if you do that.

I am still hoping someone out there has tried the WASC cake recipe in cupcake form. If you have could you let me know how it turned out.

Thanks everyone.
Lily

I've done WASC cupcakes several times. In the White and in a few other flavors. They turn out beautifully. The only problem I've had with them is the tops get sticky. But if your going to put frosting on them then that should fix that problem.

Hi ladies,

I am trying my hand at a pizza cake inspired CCers. I am going to my friends house tomorrow afternoon for a BBQ. I am going to try to make the jelly bean cupcakes from the file with the left over batter. I'll make sure I post pics when it's done. Thanks for all the help.

Melvira, my husband has had kidney stones twice. Good luck with everything.

Well, I did it, I finished and set it up. Drove away feeling angry because of the stupid woman that let me in. I have done a lot of weddings there, and she is just mean, mean, mean!! I hate her!! Oh well... my stuff looked nice so poo on her!!

I'm going to go post the cake on my 'Meet my baby' thread, FYI. thumbs_up.gif

Lily, I just made a double recipe of the Vegan Vanilla for an order today. They turned out great! It took about 24 minutes to bake, though. They really can't be underbaked or they really shrink up. I always use the oil method. I also use Vanilla Soy milk. Also with the Marshmallow bc I use about 4 cups of confectioners sugar. A half a cup leaves it pretty runny I think. It's still not too sweet. Oh, I also substituted a half cup of hi-ratio shortening for half cup butter so it would hold up better in the heat. I just love that recipe! So good on cupcakes!
