Baking By Cookies4kids Updated 11 Dec 2020 , 12:18pm by -K8memphis
ChefJulie- those cupcakes look about as perfect as can be! I can't wait to try the recipe Lisa!
Yes that was the one fiddle Thank you! I have to make a run to Wal Mart in a bit I think I'll grab the stuff to make these. They look so good!
ChefJulie, those look great!
For those of you who use the WASC, which version do you like the best? The original or revised? I am making one tomorrow and it's been a while but I think I made the revised last time.
Lisa,
I went to Walmart today but couldn't find any plates to make the cupcake holder that you had the link for but I went to our dollar store (General Dollar) and guess what? They had all theirs for 90% say I said 90% off so I got them for like 50 cents for the plates and 25 cents for the cups. I was so happy that I bought enough to do 3 of them and I'm thinking of going back for more. I bought the ones that look like a dip tray for the bottoms and just regular plates for the middle and top. They even had the cups that match. For example I got one with watermelons, stripes, and they had strawberry and all types of plaids and colors. I can't thank you enough for the link because I think they will turn out so pretty. I will try to take a picture of them as soon as I get them finished.
ChefJulie those cuppies look yummy.

I don't know if anybody else here at CC does any sewing or quilting, but I just came across this adorable pattern for a cupcake pincushion--SO cute--just thought I'd share...

Hello!
Oh how I miss all of you and our cupcake talk!
I've been at a workshop for my AP biology class that I'll be teaching this week and then once I get home I have been cramming to get everything together for my mom's party this weekend! I am excited - but stressed! I made the wannabe hibiscus flowers this evening...tomorrow night it will be plumeria!
Welcome to our new friends - and welcome back to our friends who have been away!
All of these cupcakes sound SO good...it's not going to be easy to stop baking like I've been. I guess I'll have to wait until next summer!
Aww, Julie, I'm so glad they turned out!! They domed beautifully!! That is seriously the best chocolate cake EVER. I use it as my basic chocolate cake. I cant imagine the yumminess with the white chocolate pudding!!
Meemaw, I'm so glad you found you some plates!! I checked WalMart this morning and nada. I'l be going to the dollar store tomorrow! I have a Dollar General, wonder if that is the same as General Dollar? We also have Dollar Tree which always has cuuute summer things so I'll check them too. I want to see pics when youre done!!
Hope everyone had a great day!! I am exhausted from baking all day and gotta get back to it tomorrow! And get more stuff into my classroom. I cant stop shopping!! I love the start of the school year!
Hey Melody - Since I had not gone into labor by the 8th, I knew I'd be having a c-section the next morning, so I just made them on Sunday. (The night before) That way they were good and fresh!
I'm telling you... that is a smart move... those nurses will love the gesture, and you will win 'points'. I even got orders from doing it!! Good luck!
Lisa! Thank you, thank you, for the recipe!!! Funny thing is, I TOTALLY found my hostess cupcake recipe without even trying! My brother came to visit and he tried one of the cc's I made today and said "hey, these taste just like a hostess cupcake, but better" I was like, seriously?!?!? He had no knowledge of hubby's request for a homemade hostess cupcake upon his return... how funny is that? He and his gf are flying to venezuela tomorrow and he took the whole batch with him for the plane ride. I never even iced them, just filled with the white chocolate BC.
They were a definite hit! My mom and dad tried them and loved them as well!

aww thanks! they are too cute!
That great Julie! Isnt it funny how it works out sometimes... we didnt even know how the white chocolate would work, then with the icing thing that happened. Funny too that your bro didnt even know that you were after a Hostess cuppie, and there you have it!
Glad you enjoyed the recipe!
ChefJulie- That is so cool! Funny how stuff like that happens. I am at work and I want choc cake NOW!
I just can't do it! I have read pages 1-90 in the last two days desperately trying to catch up and glean any info I could..and I just can't get caught up! You guys are too fast with the info!!
Thank you for all the amazing recipes I've read thru already and I will try them all soon! I'm just getting started doing cuppies for anything other than my kids, so I'm going to end up asking you questions I'm sure you've already answered.....please understand. LOL!
Just introducing myself...will post more later after I feed the kiddos!
hallfamily727...Welcome to our cuppy world !!! We dont mind questions. Those of us that have been here since this thread started sometimes ask questions that have already been asked and answered before ! Sometimes you even get a different view !
I tell ya....I have truly enjoyed watching the banter between you all! Fiddlesticks and Mel...you guys are hilarious!
I'm definitely going to swtich to doing cuppies in the 4 oz nut cup thingys....right after I find them. Do you think Sam's Club might have them?
Out here in po-dunk Iowa (NW corner...Sioux City, to be exact) all I have are HyVee, Walmart, and Sam's. I'm having the WORST time tracking down Rich's bettercream to try. All I've found so far at HyVee is Rich's Whip. Phooey.
Hey all you amazing cupcake makers,
I just do cakes but I am overwhelmed by all the beautiful cupcakes. I have read a few of the posts here and there in your very extensive thread and I was just wondering. Has anyone ever thought about talking to Heath about a branch of cake central being Cupcake Central? that way instead of wading through over 6000 posts,(and growing), you could have several threads going at once, of course all members of CC would have accesss to it, you could even have galleries for the cupcakes just like there are galleries for the different cakes. I hope no one takes this the wrong way I was just wondering for a way to make things easier. Heath and Jackie could even do a Cookie Central and work it just like the original CC.

Health did give us a cupcake forum but we're kind of like the neighbor you talk across the fence to with a cup of coffee. We like it here. If they freeze this thread we'll just start another one. We appreciate Heath giving us the cupcake forum and there is also alot of good info on it as well. Welcome, new comers. We're glad to help and glad to learn!

Welcome! If you ever make it down to Lincoln or ever go to Ankeny they have a Sysco's and they carry it. Just give them a call and you can pick it up in two hours.
Ok ladies I just wanted to say hello officially.
I have been lurking since page 1. I love the banter back and forth. I have made a cupcake from the recipe file and posted a pic.
I have been in summer camp with my DS and I have one week to go. I just love all of the ideas, recipes and fun that we are having together. I don't reply even though I have a lot to say, but I feel like I am a part of the family.
Thanks to all of you that post recipes and and update the file.
ElectricCook.. Welcome !!! Cuppy ladies looks like we hooked another lurker !!!I dont understand why we have so many lurkers ? We are such a nice group, and they always come out sooner or later !
Fiddlesticks, I got my Hello Cupcake book today and could not put it down til I looked at every page!! It is great! The last buttercream I made with the marshm creme was a little sweet but it called for 2 cups of powdered sugar & this book only calls for 1/2, soo I will try it next time. I love that white wreath towards the back!
GrandmaG did you see my message that I tried your Choc cake recipe for CC's and it is great! Thanks for sharing!
Welcome all you new cupcake pals! Lots of important stuff on this CC site!
ChefJulie,
Oh I have a question too, now with the hostess CC which recipe did ya use? Is it the one on page 412? I think I got lost >> A senior moment!
Linda
Yeah! Welcome to all the new people
I am off to make what I hope to have look like plumeria for my mom's cake and cupcakes....wish me luck!
BTW - if this thread does get locked and we start a new one....can someone promise to PM me and send me the link to the new one?? I just can't get on to CC much anymore since I've been getting ready to go back to work and this is pretty much the only thread I've been able to keep up with!
I would hate to lose you all!

Yes, I believe it was on 412- The Queen Lisa Cake. I (obviously) made it a cupcake. I also used white choc. pudding since I didnt have a small vanilla pudding on hand. It wasnt MEANT to be my hostess cupcake, just turned out that way
