Charlotte,
Wow and Super Wow!! You are fast, thank you sooo very much. I knew someone would know. lol
Fiddle, it will stay a lighter color... you re not going to get any bright primary colors!
Mel ??? Queen of bettercreme !How does it color ? Like with reg ole color not jut color from the syrups we add? Aslo I just picked up my 2009 copy of the wilton yr book ! In case anyone has been waiting for it. They are out now !
The only place I can find it so far is online!! Where did you get yours at? I posted a pic of the cover a bunch of pages back, it looks so adorable!!!
I got the yr book at Michaels ! Its the first day they put them out .At least out here !
I am very happy to say that I have read all 302 pages of the thread and some even 2x! How about you bobwonderbuns???
Nope, I've been bad... I try to keep up but it's just too difficult with all the other stuff I have going on compounded by the fact that I only occasionally get the email notices and when I check back, 17 pages have gone by already! But I do try to keep abreast of the comings and goings at least to some degree.
bobwonderbuns.. Since it was your question I thought for sure you had read them all ! I have been with the thread since it started! Its so wonderful !!
I know it is!! There's a lot of great info in this thread. I'm just wondering if we can't break it up a bit into a forum instead because not everyone has the time to read through (currently) 305 pages... Something to think about anyway...
can someone tell me how sweet the HI HAT cupcakes are? I see the frosting is a meringue and then you dip in warm ganache or melted chocolate.....how do you eat it and how long does it hold up without topling? I love the look but am afraid to make them.

You guys are wonderful. thanks for your super quick response. I've never done high hats, but have an order I'd like to use them on.
I thought about doing the jumbo size, but with high hats, can you see that. lol, so I'll just try the regular size for now.
Thanks Mel ! So not the same as coloring buttercream then ? Glad I asked !
No, not the same at all. It just won't take those bright colors.
I havent done the high hats yet ! But they sure look yummmy ! If either one of you do them please post and let us know how they are ! I Think Melvira is the model for Showing us how to eat a cupcake ! LOL!
to the Cinnamon Toast Crunch cuppies! I frosted them with indydebi's buttercream sprinkled with cinnamon/sugar. !
Am I missing something? I can't find this recipe?! It's not in the files or am I crazazy?

I made the hi-hats back in February for the first time.
They are VERY SWEET! Almost too sweet...but still yummy.
I had no problems with them toppling over. I just refrigerated them in-between putting on the meringue and dipping in chocolate. They held up just fine!
thanks Penny...they look gushingly sweet and not something that would hold up for the office hogs. Still love the look but would prefer ice cream under the chocolate coating, like you get at the local dairy whip.
Yah, I think I missed the cinnamon toast crunch cuppies too. I must've been reading too quickly! It sounds super interesting though!
And if someone sends me a hi-hat, I will CERTAINLY show you how to eat one! Hehehe.
I just looked through the whole recipe file and I didnt see any recipe for.. cinnamon toast crunch cuppies? I think maybe it was on one of the many links that were added ? There was that one for 800 cuppy recipes plus many more ! Maybe when whoever makes them they will share the recipe and let us know if they are worth trying ?
Sorry folks. Thought I got the recipe from this thread but it's from Recipezaar:
Cinnamon Toast Cupcakes
www.recipezaar.com
Yields: 20 â 24 cupcakes
1 yellow cake mix
1 (3 1/3 ounce) package vanilla instant pudding mix
1 1/4 cups whole milk
3/4 cup vegetable oil
3 large egg
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
cooking spray
Place baking rack in center of oven and preheat to 350ºF.
Line cupcake pans with liners and spray top of pan with cooking spray.
Place cake mix, pudding mix, milk, oil, eggs and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl.
Blend with mixer on low for 30 seconds. Scrape down sides of bowl and increase to medium for 1-1/2 to 2 minutes.
Spoon 1/3 cup of batter into each liner (about 3/4 full). Place pan(s) in oven on middle rack.
Bake cupcakes till they are golden brown, (about 18 to 22 minutes). Cool on wire racks for 5 minutes.
Slowly and carefully turn pan on it's side and remove cupcakes.
Cool 15 minutes and frost with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting. Ice cupcakes and sprinkle tops with cinnamon sugar.
NOTE can also be made in 9x13 pan if you wish
OK... I used Indydebi's frosting as DS & DDIL don't have enough room in the frig for something like cream cheese frosting.
These are dirt easy to make & make the entire house smell DIVINE! Would love to hear any modifications that come to mind. ENJOY!
Ask and ye shall receive...Thanks Grami948; those sure do sound good. Yet another cc to put onto the list to try.....
Forgot to add that I added the word "Crunch" to the recipe thinking I'd toss in some toffee pieces or chopped up butterscotch pieces. However my DIL & grandkids are rather linear not wanting such things in their cakes/cuppies. Anyway, despite my never having tried the toffee bits, the "Crunch" stayed when the family talks about these cuppies. Some day I'll make them with the toffee pieces, frost with chocolate frosting & take to our dr. office here in town!
grami948...Thanks ! I was thinking it had the Cinnamon Toast crunch ceral in it ? LOL!! As my husband would say " there ya go thinking again " Then you dont want to know what I say !!!!LOLO !!!How do you like Indy,s icing recipe ??
Has anyone made a toffee cupcake? Would toffee hold up baked inside a cuppy? With bettercreme and toffee bits on top...yummy....I've got to get my butt going now..
I have added the choc covered toffee bits to cake bater and its fine. You end up with little melted spots all throught the bater but you can taste it !
OH OH!!! I'm PLANNING on making high-hats for our family 4th of July get together!!! I got some 4th cupcake liners, so I'll let ya'll know how tall they are!! YIPPPPPEEEEE!!!!

I have used toffee bits in a candy bar. The recipe is in cake mix doctor. I put toffee bits instead of candy pieces, and they don't melt completely. Compared to that, cuppys are not baked that long, so it should hold up pretty good I think.
hmmm...and I was thinking of trying a WASC cake, so that I could color the cake part either blue, red, or white.... also, do you know if you can color the frosting that you use for them???
