Has anyone used a projector to decorate cookies? I visited a bakery close by & the owner said she uses her projector quite a bit for cakes and even cookies. I'm just not sure that's something I want to invest in just yet.
I used the projector when I did some very large bingo cookies so that the "BINGO" would be consistent on every cookie. Worked like a charm! My cake projector is the one piece of equipment I would not want to be without. (And even my kids used it for school posters, so it got double duty!)
I've use one for murals in the past & decorating school/church posters. If I'm not mistaken you can get a cheaper one that will do what you're wanting & not have to spend a fortune. Thankfully they've gotten smaller too!
I don't know why it would't work. When my sister worked at Dairy Queen (now this was back in the 1980s) they used a projector to decorate the cakes. Now I want one!! LOL!
The one that the bakery uses is a KopyKake --She said sometimes your hand might get in the way a little bit when you're doing cookies. I'm not "artisitic" and the projector idea seems like a good option for decorating slightly more difficult designs. Think of the cool fonts you could use for monogram cookies!! Now, where can I store it?
Now, where can I store it?
Ha! Whenever hubby gets upset with me about something and asks me where I'm going to put that "thing," I tell him I'm going to keep it on his side of the bed.
I Love, Love, Love, my Kopykake projector! Never thought about using it on cookies!! LOL I got a great price on a used one on Ebay.
I couldn't help myself. My KopyKake will be here Tuesday. I found a pretty good price on an art website. Do you think it will be "worthwhile" for cookies? I'm sure the larger the cookie, the better.
Good investment. I have one and I use it for cakes mostly but I am sure you can use it with cookies too. I have used it to decorate large choc. chip cookies and it worked out great.
Storage is a different story I had to give up a portion of my kitchen table for this baby.
You'll love it I'm sure.

I have a kopykake projecter and I use it all the time for my cookies..I couldn't freehand if you paid me.Best investment I have made is buying the projecter for cakes and cookies!!!
I don't want to spend that much money on one like KopyKake so I looked into less expensive ones but was disappointed with the reviews... some said that your room had to be pretty dark for you to see the image... Has anyone purchased a less expensive one and care to tell us if they work?
KiddieKakes-- I checked out your photos and your website.. Your work is wonderful! I love your cupcake cakes. What model do you have? Do you have any of the additional tubes or lenses for it?
I have the middle model that was about $200.00 dollars. It come with one tube but you can invert it and turn it around for smaller images..That's all I ever needed!! I also came with 2 light bulbs in which I already burnt one out!! They use the same bulb as trouble lights etc.. which are available at any large big box store like Home Depot.
