I have 13 weddings in May. This is a big month for me, I know it's not for others, but anyway... I just booked one yesterday and was thinking, gosh, I must be getting up there in May income... The total for 13 wedding cakes is over $11,000!!! I know all of my cost will come out, but I am so stoked about that! Just thought I would share!

I am a networker. That is my advertising. I know a lot of cake decorators in town, so when they are booked, they all send business to me. When I have consultations, I make them all in cupcakes, and then I take the extra to different venues, and just wherever (hair salons, florists, banks)...

You know, I am glad you mentioned networking. I belong to two networking groups, BNI and Rainmakers. My first week in BNI, I got a catering job that paid for my BNI membership times 4. My first Rainmakers meeting, a lady ordered a birthday cake from me for her husband for the following Saturday!! I delivered 3 boxes of cookie samples today to referrals given to me from my BNI group.....to people who are looking for cookies and told my BNI friends, "Yeah, go ahead and tell Debi to contact me about cookies."

It doesn't get any better than that!
