I am new at this and I work from home and a friend of a friend would like me to do a Fire Truck, I was just wondering if anyone had suggestions on how much I should charge? I believe this is the most tricky part of the whole cake decorating businessicon_wink.gif Any input would be appreciated, THanks so much!!!!

I have done two 3D Firetruck cakes so far and I wouldn't charge anything less than $120.00 if it is made with an 11x15 or 12x18 pan. They are very time consuming!!!Check out my photos!!

How big is it going to be? Are we talking loaf pan size?

Thought about doing it with the 11x15 panicon_wink.gif I just would like to say that (kiddiekakes) all your cakes are sooo cuteicon_wink.gif Thanks so much for the info. I could use a loaf pan and make a mini fire truck and put it on a sheet cake...that would be cute too and may be less time consumingicon_wink.gif I am going to draw up sketches and see which one they prefer. thanks

i made mine using a 9x13x3 cake, (i have photo) so that would give you around 20 servings, and if i had charged, fully, i would charge about $50 for it, mine is all buttercream with a quick chocolate ladder. Not too time consuming either. you'll probably spend more time getting the icing a nice fire engine red!!!!!
