I just got an email from the manufacturer of the cutters for my 3D cookies, and I'm so-o-o excited! They look so nice! He had some questions about shape, which means they aren't done yet, even though yesterday was the projected finish date. I'm guessing I won't have the cutters for at least two more weeks. (I have no idea how long it takes to ship something from overseas). I finally finished the instruction booklets, though, so that is an item on the checklist completed. I think this venture is actually getting close to becoming a reality and I had to jabber to someone, as my husband still disapproves of me doing this (it's TAXABLE, you know) so I can't talk his ear off. Keeping my fingers crossed!!
When are you going to start taking orders? Have you started a list? I'm asking because several of us have stated numerous times how we want them!!!! (Some at least two sets! ) I don't want to have to backorder if an online queue starts up and I'm not at my computer!!! Don't forget about us!
uh...i think i'm pretty high up on the list. um...i hope i'm pretty high on the list. i am on the list right. tell me i'm on the list. please...i've got my check book in hand!!!
I'm behind kneadacookie!! Will this be like in elementary school where we hafta remember who's in front and who's in back of us??!! NO CUTS!!!
Hey, I'm missing something here! Let me get this straight, you are having your 3D cookie cutters made and you are going to market them?? That is awesome! I'm so proud of you (and I don't even know you!!!). Really, that is great. Please hold a kit for me too.
Susan
P.S. What's with the taxable thing and hubby?
Susan, my husband is the one who does our taxes and he hates them! When I received an inheritance from an aunt, he did nothing but gripe about the tax issues. So I'm not even bringing up the subject of the kits right now. If I can make it three years, my twins will have their CPA's and I can have them take over!
The kits will have 5 cutters and come with a complete instruction booklet for baking, decorating, and assembling the cookies. Two booklets will be available...the first will have mostly animals (I threw in the clown) and the second will be mostly holidays and people. If it is successful, I will have individual cutters made that can be bought separately to supplement the kit (one for Uncle Sam, a bunny, viking, and parrot...so far).
Thanks for everybody's interest! I'm just waiting for those cutters to be finished.
Susan
please please please put me on the list too!!!!!! and GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think you are going to do great! I think it really is a novel item and idea! I would buy them!
Seriously, should I start a list? I could PM everyone on the list when the kits are ready, if that would be okay. I don't want to step on any toes and have someone think I'm trying to sell them something they really don't want. I realize this web site isn't for selling. My goal in doing these kits was to get them into the hands of cookie decorators on this site who wanted them. And it kinda mushroomed into an actual business. I could just post an announcement when they're ready and have people PM me. I doubt all 500 kits will sell out before everyone who wanted one got one! How should I handle this?
DEFINENTLY START A LIST, WHEN THE CUTTERS ARE READY YOU WILL BE SWAMPED WITH ORDERS. I HAVE ALREADY PM'D YOU WITH MY REQUEST TO BE PUT ON THE LIST. YOUR COOKIES ARE AWESOME . I WANT ONE, I WANT ONE, IWANT ONE PLEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSEEEEE!!!!
i definitely want to be on the list.
or maybe do like sugar shack and take pre-orders while the item is still in production. then when the product arrives just ship it out?
I would love to be added to your list. They sound like they would be fun to put together.
Ooh ooh ooh!!! I'm already on the list! I'm already on the list! I'm all wiggley again...!! I was just thinking about those a few weeks ago, actually- wondering about the progress... glad to hear things are going well!
As far as taxes go, your hubby shouldn't grumble until next spring, that's when they'll have to be reported, unless there is some immediate tax on imported items that isn't typical...
I know nothing about Nebraska system, but in Indiana, inventory is non-taxable, so it shouldn't be a problem from that side, only when you make tons of money to roll around in- then they tax that... But then again, people with businesses that make money also have laws to protect that money and therefore, there should be loop holes that will alleviate his grumbles...
feed him a cookie and tell him not to worry!
I want to be on the list, I'm missing out, I need to spend more time looking over the forums. Susan
It will go great don't worry about it! You already have a long list and it will get longer, can't wait. please notify us when they are in. THANKS
ME TOO! ME TOO ! Please put me on your list. Can't wait, but I will
Good luck! Looks like they are a hit already . Pm me or do what ever it is you can do to let us know when they are ready.
Ok...sign me up too. I think these are really unique. I have a few other 3D cutters already (Santa, Christmas Tree, Rudolph) so these will be a nice addition.
Jennbryanfrank, the kits will have 5 cutters (2 body styles, a round 3" base, and two feet styles). An instruction booklet will be included that has a picture of each 3D cookie and complete directions for baking, decorating, and assembling the cookies. You have a choice of two booklets: the first has 14 designs...13 animals and a clown (which is my avatar) and the second will have 12 designs that are holiday/people. I'm hoping to offer them to CC members for around $10 (plus shipping), though the final cost will be determined once all the kit pieces have been assembled. If you want both booklets, I will be charging only what the printing cost is to me. Hope that explains everything! I will PM everyone on the list as soon as I have the cutters. It's just moving slower on that end than I had planned! And once the cutters arrive, I will have to make sure the quality is okay to proceed to assembling the kits.
Susan
don't short yourself either. you've put a lot of work into these. and even if you're planning on giving ccer's a special price make sure you put the real retail price in or on the package. i would love to go to the local cake stores and try to sell some for you. we're a family here!
i think you've really got something here
