Can anyone give any pointers on keeping fondant smooth while applying to a round cake? I kept getting creases around the bottom.

Open the pleats before smoothing with your hand ..Do that on every area were there is one..

Put your cake on an elevated surface so that your fondant hangs down below the cake. Makes it WAY easier to smooth out!

Working from the back of the cake, pull the fondant out (like a skirt) and press it down on the side of the cake. Always work from the cake of the cake, it makes it easier. Hope that helps.

Have you seen Sharon Zambito's DVD? It really makes it alot easier, it clicked for me after that.
