I've only made a pudding cake once (this past week), and I used the instant.
Came out great!
The only thing is you end up with more batter, with the extra ingredients, so either make a 3rd layer or a couple of cupcakes on the side.
So does that mean you make the pudding per box instructions and then add it to the cake batter?
TIA
I made the "darn good chocolate cake" from the recipe files here, so it was a doctored cake mix basically. I did NOT make the pudding first.
You combine a box of cake mix, the pudding mix, and a couple other ingredients.
My understanding is any of the cook and serve or sugar free actually dry out a cake so instant is what you want to use.
