I have been asked to make the cake for my sister's baby shower next week. She is having a little girl. Does anyone have an easy recipe/pattern to recommend. I have taken a few decorating classes but would like simplicity. I need to make a cake that serves about 15 people.

The Wilton baby stroller pan makes a really cute cake. It would really only require you to use your star tip and a round tip so it wouldn't be that difficult. With that pan, the colors and layout that you use are what make it stand out. The pan probably comes with a couple of ideas and there are a lot of versions of that cake on this website. Have you browsed the baby cake gallery? There are so many ideas. You can go *PINK!* or cute or w/a theme like their invitation or the wallpaper in the nursery.

What about a baby shaped cake? You make three cakes in eight or nine inch round pans. Place two of the cakes side by side to make the baby's head and body and then use the third one to cut out arms and feet. Ice the baby skin tone color except white where the diaper would be. My favorite one that I did so far I used berry starbursts that I flattened to make the eyes and mouth. This was one of the first cakes I did so it was really easy and obviously it was before I learned the VIVA method to smooth buttercream. I hope it helps.

Here's a cake adapted from one of the wilton year books. Other than the pattern transfer to get the design on your frosting, it's only stars and outlining.

In my pics, there is a onesie-shaped cake I did for a friendâs shower. It is very easy! Bake it in a rectangular pan, then cut off two small triangles from the bottom to form the openings for the legs, and attach the cutouts as short sleeves. You can stop there or add some more shape by gently shaving the sides and the neckline. It is a super easy cake to shape, and you can do whatever you wish with the decorations â match it to a onesie from her registry, use her theme and create your own design, or just pipe some girlie details⦠Good luck!

I just pipped the toes onto the feet and then shaped them with a wet paintbrush. Same thing with belly button. I did have to take off the toes and redo because they pointed the wrong way but I finally got them right.

There is always a Block. If you made an 8x8 square cake, you can cut it into 4 small squares, and stack them all. You can ice it in white and then add fondant accents. Good luck!

another easy one is putting some fluffy clouds with a round tip in the corners...add a few stars...put a pink border--write heaven sent or something--E-A-S-Y

my friend and i did a cake for another friend's shower, it was a girl. search in galleries in baby shower, the photo is there, it will say posted by jaylyn, it was a lot easier than it looks, we got lots of compliments on it, we put the wilton baby stroller cake on top of a round cake, a little larger, iced the stroller in pinks and yellow and greens, iced the round cake in light blue, above the stroller on the round cake we wrote the babys name, she and i both are new to this, it was fairly simple,

An easy one is white frosting and some pink and yellow bunnies pipped on the sides of the cake, on top you can make those little baby booties on fondant, you can find the templates in the galleries, they are so easy to make or you can do 2 little pink feet with frosting. Good luck!
