I was chatting with Indydebi last night.

I say that if she started consulting for cake businesses, she could probably just close up shop and be booked solid with Cake Central people hiring her to pick her brain on the biz.

She doesn't seem to think she has that kinda star power or something.

Back me up here guys! I know I'm right!!

Let me tell you all something about Indydebi,

SHE IS ONE OF THE MOST AWESOME PEOPLE IN THE WORLD!!!
She shares everything that she has inside her brain, her business, her heart, and anything else she has. (like you all don't already know this)

STARPOWER HA, I DON'T THINK THERE REALLY IS A WORD TO DESCRIBE
HER.

All I know is that if I didn't read all of her information since I joined CC I wouldn't have the guts to actually do what I do now. I am attending my first BIG show (little compared to the others I've seen in threads but big to our area) I would not be doing this if I haven't taken everything that Indy has helped me learn and just say: "IT IS WHAT IT IS!!!!!!" icon_biggrin.gif

So for that, I am raising my icing bag to her, and giving her the golden KA for everything she does to help all of us!!!!

THANKS INDYDEBI FOR ALL YOUR WONDERFUL INFORMATION AND INSPIRATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thumbs_up.gif

I agree one hundred percent! The other night the boards were down and I desperately needed advice on how to write a proposal.. I actually pulled up cater it simple and contemplated emailing her from there to see what she had to say... she was honestly the first person I thought of to go to... (thank goodness I came to my senses and didn't bother her through work... )

Indydebi for President!

Oh yes, she would be set for life! My hubby is tired of hearing "indy said this." I also go to her website a lot for information. Sometimes I read posts just to see what she had to say about it. She has experience where I'm just starting out, so I do take her opinion to heart on a lot of things. She is invaluable to CC! (among lots of other experienced CC'ers!) icon_smile.gif

Wait a minute, here ..... If I agree with you I would have to start paying the big bucks for her great advice .... Hmmmmm ....

No! Indy should keep doing what she's doing! icon_smile.gif Sure, she could do it ... but my selfish side doesn't want her to! icon_smile.gif

well, all I have to say is Indydebi doesn't see herself as a star! She has told me through emails that her son tells her to charge...but she won't. I think that's what makes her soo great! icon_biggrin.gif I know this for sure...all the info she passes on to us we will pass it on to others just like she did! No one should have to scramble for this type of information...I think that's also how she feels!

SEND her that email if CC is down! I did one day and boy was I glad I did! She helped me think things through on some business with a woman that had WAY to big of ideas and I didn't fit into the picture! She is so down to Earth that I can't stand it! icon_lol.gif

We love you Indydebi!!!! icon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gif

Thats too funny, I say that to my hubby all the time!

All I know is everytime I see that she has posted a response in a forum I click on it to read it. Even if it does'nt apply to me it usaually turns out to be something helpful, that I could use later down the line.

If I want advice or a good laugh it's Indydebi. I just love to read what she has to say. So I think you are correct in saying she could just be a consultant. I always tell my fellow cakers what Indydebi says. I can't wait till I get to meet her in person. I better hurry!

I turn to Debi first with all my needs, questions, problems EVERYTHING! lol Sometimes not even cake related! lol She's a wonderful woman and a great friend even from hundreds of miles away lol.

I too am waiting on her to write a book on all her knowledge for us cakers and will fight for a chance to get a signed copy icon_wink.gif might even kill for it so watch out person in front icon_razz.gif (jokin obviously)

I live for the day I might meet her and wish with everything in me that her bratty nephew would change his wedding date so her and her lovely husband can come to mine instead lol.

I love you Debi! You are my inspiration! When I grow up I want to be just like you! lol

I just wanted to add that a couple of months ago I did a wedding cake:

http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1183169.html

Indydebi posted a comment and I was thrilled! It meant more to me that she liked the cake than the bride liking it. That sounds crazy to "cake civilians" but I'm sure you CCers understand!

Echoing previous comments....thanks Indydebi for all you do to help people like me!

I totally understand what you mean, I got a comment from her and a ran to show my husband that Indydebi commented on my cake!!!!
I also did the same thing when I got a comment from Melvira and Doug, there are so many helpful talented people on CC that I look up to!
They should all get together and write a book, a chapter (or 2) of helpful info from each!

We drove to Colorado for my sister's wedding back in July and on our way home as we were driving through Indianapolis, I wanted to pull over somewhere and look up her shop so that I could meet her! LOL! "Hi, I'm a dorky cake central member and I just want to shake your hand." icon_smile.gif

You know, I just told my husband about her catering site, because he is interested in catering.

Also, the other day, I was thinking that she should write a book, make a video or something.

I respect her even though we have never met. She is wonderful, knowledgeable and open. She believes in others and seems trust worthy.

Thanks for being so down to earth Debi!

3 Cheers to IndyDebi! Her talent is amazing, but her humble spirit is what makes her truly special! She offers everything she is and has to us CCer's on a platter, and w/ a frank wit says.."this is how it is". Thanks to you, IndyDebi, for your wisdom, panache, and talent. A marvelous combination of flavors that make up such a great recipe in you! thumbs_up.gificon_smile.gif

I, too, look forward to seeing IndyDebi's response on threads. She has a wealth of helpful information and gives advice that may not at first be what the poster wanted to hear but rings honest and sincere and, in the end the OP and other posters and readers are ever so grateful she commented!

Thank you IndyDebi for being a member and being so generous with your wisdom.

Well, a couple of PM's and emails alerted me to this thread.....!

You guys just make me cry! icon_cry.gificon_biggrin.gif

I don't even know where to begin. You need to understand that all I do is share my "been there done that" stories. It's no biggie ... I'm just old with lots of experience under my belt! icon_biggrin.gif

You are way too generous. The things I learned from YOU folks ..... the new skills I've dared to try, the time saver tips (a cookie scoop for filling cupcake pans really IS faster!!!), things I've never heard of and I'm now "experienced" with them .... FBCT, Luster Dusts, heck I was even brave enough to do the dowel-down-the-center thing! icon_surprised.gif The list goes on forever.

All I do is give back. That's all it is. Just giving back.

Now.....hubby says I have to tell you all that you are making his life miserable when you say this stuff, and he is making me add the following comments:

"You people are killing me. ....! Well, Iâve seen her bake a frozen pizza WITHOUT pre-heating the oven! icon_surprised.gif Now what do you think of her??? And besides, how good can she be when she doesnât worship Rachael Ray??? icon_confused.gif

Sincerely â Mr. Indy Debi"

By the way, in case you can't tell, he's a BIG fan of Ms. Ray! icon_confused.gif

I just love you guys. I really do. thumbs_up.gif

I haven't been on CC in a couple of days so just saw this thread. I'm hopping on the band wagon with this one! When I start reading a thread I know that eventually I'll come to "the voice of reason and experience". She doesn't just comment, she backs it up with explanation and makes everything make sense.

You deserve all the praise and kudos, IndyDebi thumbs_up.gif . I especially like your 'business' advice, about pricing, how to deal with customers, how to do things better than other bakeries....the list goes on.

Cheers!

You are making me fall out of my chair laughing Mr. Debi-

On a serious note, Debi, thank you so much for all you do. Its funny cause I will read a post where someone had a rough customer and my first thought is "ooh cant wait to see what smarta$$ reply Debi would have, or see how Debi would handle that." And there are many other times I was stumped and couldnt figure something out and you kindly guided me through my situation. You truly are the Cake Goddess and I thank you for lending your stories and experiences for the rest of us to share and grow on.

icon_surprised.gif OMG Debi, you must tell Mr. Indy Debi that (to use your words)

"IT IS WHAT IT IS"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! icon_wink.gif
Also let him know that, we don't hold it against him that he is a Rachel Ray groupie. Nothing wrong with that!

We truly appreciate everything you contribute to help us all out. We kind of look up to you as the cake guru (at least I do!) icon_smile.gif

THANX!!!!
