My customer is wanting this western wedding cake for her daughter's wedding and I can't find an impression to make belt & buckle anywhere like this. Any ideas? PLEASE!!!!!!

Thanks!
Its actually not an impression mat. Its put out by Patchwork cutters. I have it but I cant remember what the actual set is called but its a rose embosser. If you go to Patchwork cutters website you can look through their catalog and see it. And I believe Allan at GlobalSugar has them in stock. Thats where I bought mine from.
that looks to me like patchwork embossers you can fins then at global sugar art or Nicholas Lodge. hope this help!!!
I went through the catalog at Global Sugar and didn't see anything for the belt and buckle - am I missing it? Gees
. . . if you have a "real" belt buckle that would work . . . you can make an impression yourself . . . let it dry . . . and then use the dried "indented" impression to make the relief impression (hope that make sense) . . .
The belt buckle would have to be created like dragonflydreams said and then embossed with the rose pattern.
. . . for anyone else that is interested in using this method but is not sure of the best way to execute with items you have on hand . . . this tutorial may be of some assistance . . . http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_175853.html . . . and yes Ruth52 . . . we will be watching this thread for your completed project . . .
That might work dragon...have in mind that the indentation of a cutter is deeper cause it cuts and the indentation of the mold is just a softer shape..
Good luck!...Show photos!

. . . the method I'm referring to is for replicating the belt buckle . . . the embossing for the belt itself would be best achieved with patchwork cutters (as mentioned by someone else) . . .
Thank you all so much for your help! The wedding is scheduled for April 19, so shortly thereafter I will have a pic of it on the thread!
Hi ya'll! Here's the link to the picture of the cake I made for the wedding that we discussed in this forum. It was a fun one to make, but challenging! I ended up making a mold for the buckle parts. I found tooled fabric at Hobby Lobby and then dusted it with black petal dust to bring out the impression. I hope you can see it in the picture. Thank you for all of your help!!

Nice job Ruth! the buckle turned out very nicely and I could see the imprint on the "belt straps".
Nice touch with the wooden cake stand too
It looks terrific. I love the imprinting on the bands around each cake. Looks like real leather. Great job.
Bump! Nothing to contribute, but I'm amazed at the knowledge floating around here. Thank you for teaching us. I'll try to 'pay it forward.'
I am not a professional cake decorator but I've been suckered into making cakes for friends regularly for a couple of years and I'm scheduled to do a cake very similar to this on May 3rd. I'm really unsure about how to attach my "belt". I intend to do the leather embossed look on the bottom tier of the cake, a smooth leather on the middle tier with a belt and again the embossed leather on the top layer. I have a couple of questions.......How do I attach the "leather" belt to the butter cream? I'm afraid the weight of the fondant will make the belt sink to the bottom of the tier. Also, has anyone tried "embossing" buttercream with the leather textured tablecloth print??
When you get ready to attach it, put clear vanilla flavoring on the back. It is your glue. It won't move at all. I put the buckle part together before I put it on the cake and then just put the vanilla on the back. Don't let it set too long though before you put it on the cake. Mine almost dried out and started cracking in some places.
Good luck. I would like to see it when you are finished.!
Duh! Sorry. Here's the link:

Hiya ruth52!
I just checked out your pic (you did a great job btw) and wanted to leave a comment but was unable to. I don't know if this is because your comment option is turned off or if there is a problem with this site tonight!
If you could check your profile to make sure you have the comments turned on that would be great. I'll check again tomorrow so I can write something
Great Job!
