I am going to decorate a huge batch of cookies today for a party on Saturday and I just noticed I am out of Meringue powder. Does anyone know of a great recipe to use without meringue powder and maybe egg whites. I have cream of tartar and PS.

To bad I had the day planned for baking I let my DH take my car and I can't drive standard!!!

Please Help!!
TIA

Penny's recipe uses egg whites and cream of tartar.

egg whites are what they used in the days before meringue powder and I've used them when I'm out of the powder without any problems.

egg whites, with a dash of lemon juice, and confectioners sugar - then bea egg whites and lemon juice together a little, add confectioners sugar a bit at a time, beatting in well after each addition, till you get the consistency you want!

I make it with egg whites all the time. Egg whites, cream of tartar (in place of the lemon juice stated above), and powdered sugar.

This recipe is great.. you can add some flavoring too if you want.
