I am continuously amazed at the cakes that barely get noticed. Some of these are so amazing, I agree they all get lost in the shuffle. Here are three of my new faves that got just a few peeks that I really loved.

Here ar some cupcakes I just made. They are not really undernoticed (this is the first time I have gotten more than one or two comments while on the front page!), but I thought I would post them anyway and try to get this thread going again.

Thanks for looking!

Hiya Daisy, can you repost the links? These don't work.

This happens a lot, I haven't been able to figure out what people are doing when they copy their links, something that results in this shortened links that you often see.

In a nutshell, if your link looks super short and just says cakecentral/cake-photo_####
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1226369.html
then it's a bum link!!

Do you remember what you did to get this link? There are several others here, and also a lot in the "post the favorite cake that you made" thread.

Daisy I know you usually provide good links a lot so this recap isn't for you but just FYI for other folks here...: but to get a good link, you open a new tab or window, navigate specifically to the page w/your picture on it, and then copy the entire URL from your URL address bar at the top of your screen.

A good link is really long and full of gobbledeygook, like this
http:// cakecentral. com/ modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1226369
(I added a few spaces so the whole thing would display on screen...usually when you post it you get the "..." and it looks like this http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1226369

Hope this helps!!

I actually did the same thing I have always done. I think there are just days on CC where links dont work because on another thread someother people had the same problem and they also post links all the time. But I will try again with these links:

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1226369

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1226367

If these don't work then just look in my photos they are the bee ones and the sheeps ones.

I am quite proud of this one because it was my first paid wedding cake!

Although there are a few flaws, I am happy with the overall outcome!

Here are a couple of mine.

This is a castle cake I made for my daughter's 4th birthday last year. I spent so much time making those towers and then assembling it and the hits it got here were just - bo hummmm. icon_smile.gif

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1019063

Another favorite of mine, I just think it's so pretty and it didn't really get alot of attention.

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=815853

THIS ONE! THIS ONE! This is the one that I spent many hours prepping for and putting together, and has cost me the full use of my arms for last 2 months! I'm devastated that drying my hair and cooking a meal has become such an exhausting and painful affair, let alone the fact that I have turned down cake orders and can't indulge in my passion. Boo hoo. icon_smile.gif

That being said, I was and still am proud of this cake. It made the popular cakes added today when I added it, but I never really got to bask in the glow of pride bc of that because the site went down shortly after I uploaded it. icon_smile.gif Here it is:

Thanks for doing this thread. Sometimes I wonder if my cakes are any good since I don't get a lot of comments (if any sometimes); although I have had several "views". Anyway, here's a wedding cake I just did last week. The flowers took a lot of time to do and I was very pleased with how the overall cake(s) came out. TFL

BTW, several of the links on this thread wouldn't come up - can they be re-posted? I really want to see them! I've missed so much. Thx!

I agree....sometimes it seems like it all depends on the time of day I post my pictures whether or not they get any response or not. I am particularly proud of this cake....but it didn't receive much feedback or very many views. It took 22 hours total to complete with all the hand molding etc.

icon_smile.gif THANKS GUYS! Maybe I do have friends icon_smile.gif LOL!

All kiddin aside it was easier than it looks...kind of. It is pvc pipe for the structure. Then we used Chocolate Modeling Clay and marzipan to cover the arms and legs, his abdomen was cake, THAT is the part I was so proud of you guys...I carved that cake so nicely, I gave him the perfect "boob shelf" and I just thought I could never do it, but I did, and it looked so awesome! I made his jacket so smooth, and his facial features-not bragging just saying that took me forever to do! LOL! I am looking forward to MANY more of these cakes! IF you EVER get a chance to take a class with her, I AM NOT KIDDING! DO IT! She is so awesome! She doesn't use all of these wacky expensive tools (NOT EVEN RULERS!) just her own 2 hands, and learning that was so awesome! You don't need an arsenal of tools-(EVEN THOUGH I KEEP BUYING THEM ) In the end we used our own 2 hands as tools icon_smile.gif THanks guys for saying that, I was so bummed that no one looked at him!

mariaK, MG, and lchristi - wow! Those cakes are amazing!

I recently joined the NJ Cake Decorator's Club (a new club) and for June's meeting there will be a demo for making the wine bottle cake. It will be done by Brenda (whom I believe is a member here, but don't know her userid off hand - sorry!). Unfortunately I won't be able to attend, but luckily I have Elissa Strauss' Confetti Cakes cookbook, so hopefully one day I'll be able to teach myself how to make that wine bottle cake.

I am proud of the cake in my avatar even though not a lot of people saw it. It was my second cake and first gumpaste shoe.

Thanks Daisy1993, although it wasn't just the ones you had posted - I was having trouble with some others on here. I think the site was just having issues but I've since been able to go back and look at them.

BTW, I noticed a button on here for uncommented pics but when I click on it, it says I don't have permission to view them. Why is that? Do you have to be a gallery supporter or administrator to do that? If we could see the uncommented pics then they wouldn't be uncommented on...yes? lol
