How many full sheet can the ink print before it runs out? I know it depends on the picture, etc. But on average.

I went to buy a cannon ip3500. I put it back because the box says IP3500M. Does anyone know if it matters? I dont' want to get charged a restocking fee if I have to return it. They said if I return it I'd have to pay for all the ink cartridges if I use it even once. It's 59.99 plus a $30 rebate so I'd want to get it there versus going somewhere else.

WHERE DID YOU FIND ONE FOR THAT PRICE? I don't know nothing about the printers but would love to have one. I would want one with the chip in the cartridges because I don't think I would be able to remove them and don't want to mess with it.

the ip3500 for 59 with the rebate is at Fry's in California. Staples has it for 79 with a $20 rebate. But I'm still wondering about the IP3500 vs IP3500M

NewEgg currently has the Canon PIXMA IP3500 on sale for 43.99 with $5 3 business day shipping!

Edit: I just noticed that it's an Open Box item. I had no idea what that meant and had to look it up. Apparently it means that you have a limited warranty and some items accessories like cables might be missing. You'd think they might be a bit more forthcoming with that info, wouldn't you?

ok, I purchased my canon ip3500 and my ink and my papers arrived from kopykake. I'm trying to do an image of my boys for my husbands cake. Very first one. I will be trying out the KOPYKAK free software but has anyone used anything else. I was trying to play with MS paint and I ruined about 10 pages trying to figure it out. I'm trying not to ruin the kopycake sheets. ( using two different printers) Can anyone let me know if they are using different software than Kopykake?

i bought a canon 3500 a few months ago after reading this thread...

i haven't opened it yet because i've been too busy,

lately all i see are posts from people that have troubles with theirs clogging etc.

one posters remedy was to buy the ink from tastyfotoart, and the clogs stopped.

are those of you who bought the canon printer still happy with it?

I haven't read this thread yet but hear's something you should know in the event it hasn't been mentioned. Kopykake does not advise refilling the ink carts for this printer at this time. I didn't know this and tried and it didn't work, I wasted $40 on a refill kit I now can't use and had to spend $60 for new carts and the cleaner to unclog the print heads. Also, the ink sure doesn't last long. My suggestion would be to look at their list to see which printer uses carts that can be refilled otherwise, it's just not worth the money.

For me, I can take my own wafer paper to the local Rayley's and they will print them for me for $4.00 or less depending upon whose working. After the cost of the printer, 2 sets of ink carts and the ink refill, the other way is cheaper since I find I'm not using it that much.

I've used my ip3500 3 times. after the first time it clogged in one week. Pissed me off. the printerhead where the cartridges fit in was clogged. I was going to spend $65 to get the steamer which I was not happy about. Someone posted somewhere that they worked at a bakery and their tech ran it through hot water. I didn't try that. I did remember I had a humidfier. So i turned it on put the cartridge on it for 3 min and it unclogged!!!!
What I don't like about the canon is the chips. I busted one trying to put in the edible cartridge. I had to buy another cartridge just for the chip. When I put the cartridges in one chip popped out and I had to shake my printer until it came out or another $15 to buy the ink cartridge just for the chip. The Epson folks don't have chips, no worry of busting one, losing one. I'll finish the canon ink and look out for an epson to be on sale.

i copied this from the "tastyfotoart" site

You may notice we do not sell cleaning cartridges. If they are needed, ask yourself, is something wrong with their inks? They are not necessary for our inks, and are a waste of money. If our inks are handled properly, either run a print or a cleaning cycle every week to ten days, they will not plug the jets.

i ordered from here, and am hopeful f or the best.

Oh there was nothing wrong with the kopykake ink cartridge. They were just fine. It was the printer cartridge that the ink cartrdiges go into. I did run cleaning or maintenance cycle and it unclogged two color clogs but the black wouldn't unclog until I stuck steam on the printer cartridge. The kopykake ink cartridges were just fine.

If you don't mind me asking. . . How did you get the cartridge out? I can't seem to figure it out.

for the IP 3500 it has two parts. The part that doesn't come out which is fine because that's not where the ink is and the back part. you have to turn on the printer so the ink holder moves to the middle then raise the lock lever up. take out the 4 ink cartrides then grab the prin head up. There are 4 mini sponge like things in each slot and that is what clogged.
